Hi Lee Only discovered your channel recently, and like you, I use photography as a coping mechanism (after my wife died) as I also have a disability that prevents me from walking far, I set up a macro studio in spare room. Tried to learn from KZbin, but was mostly brash Americans who just wanted to be seen. Then along came you (and Stewart) people who care about others, and have a passion for their craft. Keep it up old mate, and stay positive. We'll done.
@ulriktnnesen59873 жыл бұрын
Hi Richard, I'm sorry to hear about your wife, but it brings a smile to my face that you found photography as a means to keep you busy. If you are interested you can become part of The Macro World facebook group, and if you had like to be able to have a chat or be part of a small community, then you can join Stewart's Discord server. Stewart Wood, Lee Hall, myself and several other nice people frequent that place. Feel free to join us if interested :)

Hi Lee! I too have a disability and photography, particularly macro photography gives me a focus (if you pardon the pun!) because I can't work and would get very bored and very depressed otherwise. Take care my friend.

I do love a photographer who uses simple techniques and simple pieces of 'equipment' like Blu-Tac! Wonderful! None of these fancy clips, clamps, plamps and things that cost an absolute fortune, that the average Joe Bloggs on the street can't afford anyway! Well done that man!

Just discovered your channel. I don't understand why you don't have more subscribers and views. I've been a photographer since the film days and made a living at it at times. I'd actually gotten a bit apathetic with photography lately. Too many, too much of the same old same old. People have become rather frustrating to deal with in portraiture. Nature and landscapes have even started to become a bit same, same for me. Not to mention it has been way too hot and dry here in SW Texas to the point my favorite water spots are all dried up. The simple, yet beautiful tabletop macro work you are doing is a fresh change and inspiring. I have nice gear and lenses that have just been sitting for the most part. Time to get them going again. You really should have more people watching this channel. Maybe it's because the gear manufacturers and dealers are paying KZbin to suppress your videos because they don't encourage people to buy multiple thousands of dollars worth of gear. :) Okay, I did go on Amazon and by a 2 pack of those multi-color light bulbs.
@LeeHallphotography2 жыл бұрын
Wow thank from the bottom of my heart for your fantastic comment and support. To be fair I have had a lot of you tube photographers contact me a while back trying to put me down. And trying to get a photography company to send me there bottom of the range gear is a joke they just send me emails saying sorry lol. But to be fair I really just enjoy putting fresh new ideas on the tabe that people have not done before and showing people how I do it. And when I get a fantastic comment like your one. This just boosts me to do more. I know I am not the best but I am just passionate about helping my viewers. Once again thank you ever so much And welcome to my KZbin family

Thanks Lee another good one, you help keep us together and give us hope. ( thanks to Mrs Hall for keeping you going) I have a question please, I have paintshop 2021 and want to get helicon soft, is it worth getting this to help depth of field, as most people use LR. I would like your advice/option please. Thanks Eric
@LeeHallphotography3 жыл бұрын
Hi my friend thank you for your kindness and support. I only use LR and PS my friend so I can't really help. But when it comes down to depth of filed the way you frame the shot up and position the camera will help you more than any edit tools. All editing tools are pretty much the same just don't spend lots on them. I will have to do a video on how I edit my pictures you will see how I don't really do a lot to them and I only use the simple tools my friend

How do you know which extension tube to use?
@LeeHallphotography2 жыл бұрын
Hello Norma thank you for dropping me a message. It really depends on how close you want to photograph your subjects. The bigger the extension tube the close and bigger the subject will be in the frame of your picture. I always start off with a small extension tube and see how it looks then move to a bigger one if needed. Hope this helps you Stay safe and happy snapping

Great one bud ;) I might have had a moment of genius. Why not hold a ruler against your lens so that the end of the ruler will be at the same angle as your focal plane? That way if you have the feather at an angle, you can tilt your camera to match the angle :)

Happy New Year Lee. Some constructive criticism: Your videos would be much better if instead of showing the back of the camera, which shows the photos in very poor quality on our screens, you would show the actual pictures or leave the back of the camera in the video but add all the pictures at the end of the video so that we can see them in good quality.
