How do you soft proof and how do you tell c1 to use specific printer profiles? Did I miss this info on your video? I am about to make my first fine art print with c1 after ditching adobe completely but I would not like to experiment and start wasting pricey fa paper

Great video. I'm asking for help, i'm trying to move from Lr to C1 but there is one detail i can´t manage, i must print 4x6 proof sheet with the filename on top of the image, i set up everything, the printer, the proper 4x6 sheet, the 2x2 column and row, the margins, the color profile, the filename font, color and size and save a preset. But then if i move to another print size as an A4 or a 6x8 it is all messed up, then if i go again to the 4x6 preset its all messed up and i have to change all the values again, so sick of it, what's the point of the print templates?? Help.

Hi. I was hoping you would mention soft proofing in C1. before printing.

I went to Cap One because of the fuji raw files... anyway a long time LR user and to get easily acquainted with CapOne I set the user interface similar to LR, thumbnails on the bottom and the control panel on the right

thank you , as someone on the capture one trial at the moment this is very useful, I'm coming from Luminar with no real dedicated print features

Hey T.J., This is an ABSOLUTELY excellent video on how to print in Capture One Pro. Thanks a lot for the AWESOMELY simplifications of the Soft Proof capability of C1. Cheers! 😎

You can move the slider panel to the right if you prefer....

Trying to do my first prints from capture one into a canon pro300. I've selected the correct paper profile in capture one (latest version) so printer colour management is supposedly turned off and I'm getting magenta casts. Reds looking purple. Monitor is calibrated. Annoying the hell out of me now.

Hi Ian, so sorry for the late reply. I would look at having a custom profile made or remade. But also double check the driver is installed correctly and maybe reinstall. Tim

Why would you use a pure black on white silhouette image when describing tones and curves etc? You did when comparing print papers as well!
@FotospeedUK3 жыл бұрын
To be honest I wanted to print this picture and at the time of recording I hadn't seen Sam paper comparison video strange we used the same type of image. I had in my mind that the video was more about printing through Capture One than an editing tutorial. Tim

I haven't used Capture one since 10 or 12 i think it was. If it's the same back then you were able to swap the tool panel over to the right side like LR if you are used to LR. What i found at the time Capture one gave my Nikon images a cleaner look to them compared to LR/PS. I also found Capture one hard to use at first, i tried it a few times back when they let you have a months trial period. Then all of a sudden something clicked after the 3rd or 4th attempt with it and it seemed easier to use than LR.

A video about color accuracy on a black and white image?

I’ve used Adobe products since the 1980’s, and still use Photoshop on a fairly regular basis. However, across 100’s of thousands of photos I have had several massive crashing with corrupted database, unrecoverable photos, edit compatibility bugs and too many other problems to mention. The reality of the performance (slow tethering, poor processing speed in individual and batch mode), stability and other issues and limitations of Lightroom bites everyone in the butt sooner or later, given enough time and images. BTW, Lightroom restricts you internally to the ProFoto profile, while the interpretation of both that and even Adobe RGB are DIFFERENT between Photoshop and Lightroom. Go figure. In any case, there are no such restrictions or issues with Capture One. I am glad you got the interface/features you needed in C1, but I am surprised nobody explained to you the required setting and workflow to make even the older ones work. It required a global versus Process vs Recipe setting, with toggling of Proofing mode as needed.

halfway into the video, still C1 for beginners, waiting for the printing stuff to begin...

Hi Ronny, I made the video to be a intro into C1 and printing through it. Many of our customer asked for it and a quick overview. Tim

@@FotospeedUK I apologize - guess I was misled by the thumbnail saying "You Can't Print Through Capture One!" - I was kinda waiting for your arguments. Nevertheless a cool video, thanks. Q: When I print through Capture One, I had the feeling lately that the "Sharpening"-Slider in the Print-Dialog-Page is not doing much, or does it? I mean, the dedicated export-page shows a pretty good and accurate proof, e.g. when "sharpening for print", but I can't see no difference with the sharpening-slider in the Print-Page you showed in your video, neither in the displayed layout on screen nor on paper

Thank you for this video. As a dedicated Capture One user I won't go back to Adobe. C1 does a much better job in RAW conversion and has powerful editing tools that are excellent. It is of course, not perfect. Adobe has a few processes that are not available in C1.But for me, the differences aren't critical.
@FotospeedUK3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your message, I'm torn between LR and C1 at the moment. I do agree that the RAW conversion seems to be better. Tim

I still find Photoshop superior to print from. You can make black or collered borders any size, what you can't in C1. Choose printing DPI etc.
