Absolutely fantastic rarer than rare Classic Rock Band. I think they are one of the top 3 ever out of SF to introduce great deep writing incredible harmonies timing and musician ship David Rubenson just got it perfect. How they ( some of them left the Frantic’s) from the Northwest and melded into this is almost inexplainable. CBS had good and crazy ideas to launch the Group.Every Member contributed with everything. The Songs Music was simply too good for Radio and they invented so many aspects of Classic Rock.If you don’t own everything they’ve released you are cheating yourself. I thank you so very much for this. Peace M

Proud to own a copy of this ultra-rare LP. It's one of the few slivers of vinyl I have valuable enough to hang onto.

I've had 2 copies in the last 30 years. The last was a white label promo from Japan! Thats the one I recorded to cd. The Ultimate Moby Grape rarity. No MG collection is complete without it.

the things you find out, if you take two minutes to read wikipedia- evidentially Katz worked for himself and the Devil, and even made the group sign over their NAME & much of their song rights.......

On any given weekend there could be multiple Moby Grapes performing sumultaneously in different cities. He didn't consider Moby Grape to be Spence, Lewis, Mosely, Miller, Stevenson, he considered Moby Grape to be a name he could commercialize. One band in Katz's stable, Tripsichord Musical Box, may have been one of those groups; a lot of their own work sounds exactly like Moby Grape. He hid It's A Beautiful Day in an attic in Seattle playing at a club he owned at a time when all the other San Francisco Bands were playing festivals and gaining popularity. The lyrics from White Bird state the case. "White bird in a golden cage on a winter's day in the rain.."

@@toddparke8535 what a shame to have the small minded deliberately derail those who are talented and want to share their talent. Perhaps such mean-mindedness was the result of an unhappy childhood. At any rate appreciate that info. I had heard a couple of things.
