I first heard this on a Columbia 45 way back, about 1957. It gave me goose pimples then, and still does.

Even with this lo-fi offering the harmonies and the Rickenbacker really stand out. And as basic as he played, I liked Michael Clarke's drumming, gives these songs more of a rock feel when they played live.

Didn't burn the entree before departing in utterly iconically under a haze of rock & roll mystique & intrigue. A "two fer," as that's largely ditto on the far less heralded yet stridently excellent DK. Couldn't play a note too many, either fellow. Green always knew innately the precise feeling each song required. I first heard "Man of the World" only recently, and due to his infamously spiraling religiosity delusions & fragile, encumbered state at the time, I expected a rousing, boastful blues cut, yet was immediately trying very hard not to sniffle when the exact opposite sparkled through my headphones. Both Green & Kirwan were brilliant, touched, tragic, and remained shrouded in that legendary, 'hard to articulate' golden-age of rock & roll Summer of Love iconic.

I have never heard a single person say they weren’t great musicians. Your making this up for your comment is pretty lame. Even odder is the fact this is one of their worst performances.

Any live Byrds performance is gold. I was in Thailand and quite happy when I learned Crosby had died. I listened to Suite Judy Blue Eyes and cried for about an hour.

Is this a acetate demo or the regular demo version? This sounds like the demo to me. I didn't know an acetate version existed. I am not disputing just asking. Just going by what I have heard. If you can clarify I am looking for the correct versions. That is what I am searching for and would appreciate any help getting there I can get. If there is a demo and a acetate version cool. Just looking to complete my collection. Thanks.

The harmony sounds like Herb Pedersen is still with the band for this single. I know he recorded with Podolor then left during those sessions - but I can't find credits for this single anywhere to confirm it.

He's a great singer and talk show host. Wildest show I've ever been to. Met him privately in his dressing room. His producer took me back with roses I got him. Got a big hug and kissed on the mouth. Autographed my book and even remembered me when he was on a radio talk show and was so sweet. R I P Mort.
