He's not drawing a person. He's drawing a series of shapes and values. If you train your eye to look for relationships between shapes and values, anyone can do it.

Is this person using a charcoal pencil with all of the wood/paper removed from it? Or is that just a really thin charcoal stick?

probably like a nitram charcoal they do that kind of size maybe thats a nitram but theres many brand that does it

Looks like vine/willow charcoal (different sizes and thicknesses, waaaaay softer than charcoal pencil, blends super easy) for the base and lighter shadowing and a carbon stick (grips and stains paper more) for the darker values.

Generally the picture are simmilar but their mouth must be maked correction. The bold of under nose more darkness..so make conclusion i.e. the picture more older than the original picture..am I correct?
