also one about making crisp accurate stencil making techniques for fineline tattoos.
@jjjaylud2 жыл бұрын
Yess that one has been on my mind too. The tattoo session video I uploaded with the grandmother’s portrait had some info about how I prep my stencil. But it was very brief. I will make a full vid about this and many other subjects when all the bits of info in my head come together. It’ll happen naturally!

great content. Love your videos. A video on fineline color would be amazing. i see alot of new fineline artists doing color realism at micro scale and im curious about the ins and outs of that. i can see it get tricky with color ink viscosity and how to layer that in enough before chewing up skin.
@jjjaylud2 жыл бұрын
That’s a great idea. I had some experience with fineline color. And worked with color a little bit in general too. I observe a lot of fineline color tattoos and artists also. I can put some very useful info together definitely. Great suggestion

Hey, first of thank you for your videos! I’m a beginner artist and wanted to ask if you messed up some tattoos when you first started and how you dealt with that?
@jjjaylud Жыл бұрын
of course, my go-to is ALWAYS make it up to them. give them their money back, offer a free tattoo, cover it up etc. Once you learn to dismiss it once, you'll do it again and again and again until your soul is muddy. You'll lose yourself and your values. Integrity is first. I'm still doing my best to keep doing this. Things like money, laziness, clout etc will all take you away from this. Also, don't begin tattooing on real skin until you have trained for a long time. This will help avoid most of this to begin with. Too many people are rushing into tattooing.

Hi, congratulations on another great video. I always see you talking about being careful with the needle depth and black pigmentation, so in your opinion what is the best material for tattoo training? I've trained a lot with homemade artificial skin and at the moment I'm training with real pigskin, in my opinion pigskin is much more human in many aspects, but I would like your opinion... Thanks :)
@jjjaylud2 жыл бұрын
no problem and thank you. Pigskin is great for practice but is dead so it will feel different because it won't be as responsive or swell, or ooze blood or plasma like live skin would. fake skin is different from pigskin but also not alive. I would say training on real skin is the best but because we are training, mistakes are likely to happen.. So with a good mentor and good self discipline and awareness, you can "practice" safely on real skin. By offering very simple tattoos first and VERY slowly branching out with new techniques. Treat each one with care. I don't like it when people get ahead of themselves because this is where mistakes happen. All the while you are drawing with pencil and paper, training on pigskin, and fake skin, and hand stenciling the stencils. This will keep your hand sharp and your mistakes on people at the absolute minimum.

Чтобы чернила не заживали темнее, а заживали тон в тон (как выглядит свежая) , не пробовали ли вы 90% graywash (95 или подобное) чтобы избавиться от затемнения после заживления?
@jjjaylud2 жыл бұрын
Google Translated: Я думал об использовании 90%, но я очень упрямый и ленивый человек, поэтому я продолжаю использовать 100%. Да, когда я использую 100%, заживает немного темнее, чем если я использую GRAY WASH.

Hello ! Little question, what stroke is your sol nova ? For the 1rl work ? I tried with my bishop rotary liner, 5 stroke, 6.5 volt but I think it’s too much for the 1rl. (I had cheyenne needle, result : no ink, just damage the skin so I leave it and took back my 3rl 😂. I’ve watched your video about 1rl so I’m gonna try again. I have the sol nova unlimited but 3.5 stroke. Also have bishop rotary packer with 4.2 stroke) Many thanks for your reply.
@jjjaylud2 жыл бұрын
I use the 3.5 stroke. 5 may be too strong. Less is better with 1RL or else you will damage skin

Thank you for another informative video! Is there a rough good size (e.g. in cm) of a single line tattoo with enough room for details? Also, regarding your first point on depth, is it normal to have touch up sessions as maybe it was too shallow the first time round?
@jjjaylud2 жыл бұрын
I can tell when it’s too small because of my experience with fineline size tattoos but it is hard to explain in measurements. It’s kind of like intuition. Maybe I can make a video and show many size examples of what is ok to me and what isn’t. Yes it is common to have touch ups. I have touch ups come in even now still. But the more thorough and skilled you become, the less it will happen. But it still happens.

I’m thinking about another one about what you said about healing. Do you warn your client about that when you tattoo fine lines ?
@jjjaylud2 жыл бұрын
Usually they already know. But I will definitely warn them when it's especially small. If they're ok with it and are interested in small tattoos for its aesthetic, then they at least know the consequences. But I usually always refrain from going too small. I am very accurate with details so I can go quite small, but I know when its just too small.

and j, I will ask an important question for me, I am constantly improving myself in tattooing. one of my biggest wishes is to work at atelier eva, what would you suggest me to do to work there, how can I get there, if you can help me, I would be very grateful, thank you very much.🙏🏻
@jjjaylud2 жыл бұрын
You will hate my answer hahaha. The best is for you to not focus on that.. I could be wrong but this works for my situation and how I got to where I am. When I focus too much on things ahead of me and not in front of me, things don’t go well. There is never a true shortcut because if you take shortcuts, the universe, god or whatever will take something else from you to balance your shortcut. I’m still young and try to get better at this for my life too. Focus on your tattoos, customers, and your life and mind first and then maybe something better than atelier eva will be open for you? I believe in this way.

@jjjaylud2 жыл бұрын
if you are using only black ink, it will heal darker. If you use greywash or diluted black ink, it will heal slightly lighter. so try greywash. I will make a part two healing video and include inks, color, and skin types and areas. these are some that I forgot to include in the first healing video..
