I got rid of all my baitcasters because after 20+ years of bass fishing i realised that small lures with the right techniques i actually cast within the zone of fish and caught more bass with my spinning reel with a wacky rig than with the baitcaster. I always backlashed my baitcaster when flipping. Now i will try flipping my spinning reel

In my view most major companies all produce certain bait types/shapes and almost copy each other regarding the most popular shapes. If company X was paying me I'd throw their stuff. I usually buy whats on sale, except for certain "go to" baits, and I catch FL strain Bucketmouths on many different baits within a stone's throw from my home. I will mention I'm mainly a bank angler fishing golf course and neighborhood ponds, and canals. Also there are Hawgs to be had in these small waters, so much so I take for granted what it feels like to catch a 9 lb Bass what for some northern anglers would be the fish of a lifetime. Nice tips on all of your vids and I will try this out for sure as own a few packs of Rage bugs and like the idea of not spooking the fish with a gigantic splash lmao.

I couldn't agree more with the comment from the Kayaker. When i fish out of my boat I get in the cover water mindset. In my kayak I really slow down and pic things apart. From my kayak i constantly see guys in boats fish past the fish before they get a bite and keep moving. Awesome videos!

@@AndrewUpshawFishing My home lake is inundated with filamentous snot grass on all the shallow bushes. Most all lures get bogged down in it. Suggestions for lures?
@AndrewUpshawFishing

Gross. Lol umm I would probably have to suggest weightless plastics or maybe even a heavy duty drop shot. Something to keep the bait more off the bottom.

I tend to always flip and pitch a straight shank and snell it every time with flouro or braid. The trick for not hanging up in wood a lot with a snell is putting a bobber stop above and below the weight so it doesn’t cabotage that hook every time i contact a branch or whatever. I found out last year how effective a smaller 3-3.5” inch craw or creature bait on a 1/4oz or less can be. I caught all my big females last year during the spawn pitching to the dark spots outside of the beds on that setup with 16-18lb flouro.
@AndrewUpshawFishing
@AndrewUpshawFishing 4 жыл бұрын
I could see that. I’m not a fan of a snell with fluorocarbon personally, but I know a lot of guys who use it. But I am a fan of flipping smaller baits to spawners!
