I'm driving a 2006 S60R, what do U guys think about tranny flush? I'm about to hit 100k miles on it and its something I'm strongly considering but I haven't done it yet. Btw. nice upgrades, meth/water injection is on my to do list as well as full 3'' exhaust (partial now) but prob wouldn't stretch it to 23lb with my turbo :-P

Ah. Yeah the turbos are great. I will say the smaller 2.4 engines are actually stronger. The R engines are the weakest in physical metal strength.

I drive s40 volvo sport lux 216bhp, I will put fucking sports brakes sports everywhere.. Because with car that heavy and that fast you need fucking mint brakes... Especially in UK.. 2nd gear pedal to the metal to 5.5k RPM then clutch the 3rd and pedal to the metal... You do get excited :D

The engine can handle it just fine. The only major part you need to swap is the turbo and injection. Some mapping on top of that and you are good to go! If it has an automatic gearbox it wont last long, but a manual should be fine.

Daniel Bargas The engine is well proven to handle up to 530whp with stock internals (not bhp) but im not sure how much you would loose with AWD. In Sweden we put this engine into everything just because its cheap reliable power(reliable for a tuned up engine). in real wheel driven cars its often paired with a BMW ZF gearbox because it can handle much more then a Volvo m90 gearbox. Consider this, Volvo sells the S/V60 with a 370hp 4cyl engine from the factory. This engine has the exact same rods but 1 less cylinder. 370/4x5=462.5 Last but not least. Europe and US measures the octane differently. 93 us octane is actually the same as 98 European octane

depends a little bit which white block engine you use and how its tuned. But this is what you can have in a drivers car. If you are going for a track car that you are doing to punish every time you take it out, you might want to reinforce things. A friend of mine had a Volvo 960 with a 480whp T5 in it. He built it just to have a fun car to play around with but he also took it to some drift events. Held up for about 4 year before he sold it. With all stock internals.

You should have gotten a Custom Remus ... You might want to talk to SpeedFactory in Tacoma WA to see if you can have custom made pistons made. They make custom pistons, usually honda/acura stuff, but give them a call. I would reconmend replacing the Enkei's, they are heavy wheels, get some Old school 90's 18's or 19's multipeice ... save you a few pounds.

Need some advice I have been watching Volvo's on KZbin for probably about the last month and in rather intrigued. Was planning on leaving it at that, however I just came across a 2001 S60 T5 with a 160K listed for $2600 and I'm fairly confident I could pick it up for $2000. Guys states it's his wife's daily driver, but that it needs a few things. So my questions are does it sound like a decent deal? What is the cost of ownership as in are these reliable or are they prone to minor issues that add up? And final question car would probably become my daily as I have a 2011 STI that I would prefer to not drive everyday, and given that I have an STI already am I gonna be surprised or disappointed in this cars ability's after a few modifications? Personally I think I will be let down by the T5 model in the 1st place given that it's not all wheel drive, but this seems like a good deal to me.

But then you see cars like this, they still dont look like much but knock your socks off. Who is this guy's tuner in Connecticut? I have an 05 S60 T5 AWD Auto that I would love to have him play with. I am an hour from the northern border of CT and would have no problem making the trip down to the tuner to have him mildly tune my stock S60.. I don't need 450 hp but a nice 300-340 would be fine. If anyone else knows of anyone who knows how to tune these cars without charging an arm and a leg and are within an afternoons drive of southern Vermont, let me know!
