These diseases are renounced for having extremely low quality of life scores and they make sitting in a wheelchair seem like not much of a deal. (Don't get me wrong, of course, it can be but at least you are taken serious. People with schizophrenia or dementia often are locked away in care facilities and people with chronic fatigue syndrome or lupus are seen as mere hypochondriacs and don't get any public attention at all. People in wheelchairs also are less coastly for the tax payer and often are able to work themselves.)
