I've known the alphabet for years and still can barely recognize the signs and get crazy confused when I try to spell words. I need to spend more time practicing. This comment will hopefully make these videos show up in my feed so I can build the habit.

Dr. Vicars has a tool for fingerspelling practice on his website. I try to practice at least 50 words each day. I love it!

@@Maria-ix1up It's an awesome tool! Though, there's a Flemish version as well? I used it by accident once, and was perplexed. Still curious why it exists under Dr.Bill's domain.

@terminatort1014 That "Flemish" version of the Fingerspelling Practice Tool came into existence when a Flemish person asked me if they could use the tool using a list of Flemish words. I was just doing a favor for someone.

TIP* say the letter sounds in your head not the letter names when someone is fingerspelling then you don’t have to remember the letter names and form a word at the end, you’re sounding it out as you go. (The words that won’t sound out you at least get closer, or can narrow down quicker that it’s a word that doesn’t sound out). Your receptive skill will go WAY up if y oh haven’t been doing this and then start. Think of it like reading the word on their hand! When you read you say the letter sounds not names. 👍🏼🤟🏼

do you start with easier words and work up to harder ones? i see a lot of “i” “c” and “t” words closer to the middle of the video

This particular video isn't intended to be "easier then harder." Just some words that I thought were interesting from whatever material I had been reading that day. You might find the fingerspelling playlist to be of interest: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJKUknSOpbulaNk&pp=gAQBiAQB
