@TheRockRacing as for bracket racing videos, it's absolutely the best. I been doing this a long time, got so frustrated after a bad year last year. I started driving one of these ways and got most of what I'm doing this year through the video. Especially sticking to the plan. So far 1 win, 2 runner up and #1 in super pro points. Not to mention I have shared it with all my people I race with. No matter how good you are, or how long you been racing, it's always good to review what you're doing and find any way to improve yourself!

Great video as always. Seasons over for me now, but been practicing implementing this more this year. Usually being a hun or two under. But the last race I got a bit closer. Took .012 stripe but was .004 under. I was .05 behind and tried to wheel him through and take as little as I could as he was whomping by 1000ft. I think next year I can make it work though. Racing here in the U.K. all Pro And Super Pro run bottom bulb as Delay Boxes are outlawed here. So the reaction averages here usually can have a wider margin. But my brother in his Junior has been implementing what you’ve showed us since the first video you did. And he’s come Runner-Up in championship two years in a row now. And all the kids consider him the best top end driver in the class. And he credits all his success on your videos as a brilliant visual aid for him. So thank you Rocky.

Thank you so much man that means a lot! 😌 I’ve been loving your videos you guys are both driving well. Your car seems tough to hold because it looks like it keeps its momentum, whereas my car a whomp will move the car back and kill a significant amount. I can’t imagine no delay box as well 😅 but you’re making it look like no big deal leaving that starting line. But if ever in doubt just hit the tree and make it close! Good luck to both of you I think Luke’s going to be the champ soon! Thanks again. Be sure to watch out for a new video Friday 👍

Dude thank you for this. You are the only person that I have found so far that is explaining this style of driving. I'm just getting into bracket racing for the past few years. 1st year no traction on my 2018 Chrysler 300 700hp. 2 year COVID heart attack and recovery and blown tranny. 3 year youngest son dies😢. This year my wife said get your butt back at the track. Go get the tranny rebuilt 😮. Well on the HP70 there is no trans brake and foot breaking even with a 2step it is very difficult to win. I'm running late this year but will have a trans brake and delay box😊. Im bumping up the HP buy 100 to 150 just to put me a little fast then most in the sportsmen class. Now I can start to learn how to race and not just drive and at 55 let's hope this old man can learn new tricks with an open mind. I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around everything but will watch your videos in the hope of learning. Are there any books that can help me or explain more about the math around this? Like my car for several races was right around 11.3 to 11.4. would I dial would I dial 11.5? My RT was all over the place but should be a 100 times better with the new equipment and a lot of practice on the tree.
@TheRockRacing
@TheRockRacing 6 ай бұрын
Yes gotta get back out there man! Sounds like your new combination will be good. Sportsman will be a great place to learn and try new things if you want to experiment. Anywhere from 20-50 on the tree will be solid. For finish line I would see how much ET your car ranges and base your dial on that. If it moves .05 then maybe dial .05 up to cover it for example, as long as you figure out a way to kill it accurately. I’m not sure of any books. This is Bracket Racing Elite has lots of written lessons but it’s a paid subscription. Be sure to let me know how it all goes man!

😂 Sounds like a plan! It’s not as easy as holding it to the floor, but I’d rather make a mistake trying to drive it then holding it to the floor and watching their win light come on

Truly one of the things that makes me love bracket racing so much. Absolutely anybody can floor it and drive it out the back (heads up racing). The real skill in drag racing is driving the stripe.
@TheRockRacing
@TheRockRacing Жыл бұрын
I agree. I enjoy watching all kinds of racing, but with heads up racing you often know the winner at 100 ft. With bracket racing, you never know until the end. And you get to see good finish line drivers turn a bad situation into a winlight

@TheRockRacing
@TheRockRacing Жыл бұрын
Yea that’s naturally going to be a little more difficult to judge. You’re also on the track for a longer amount of time which is more time for any inconsistencies. But at the same time being a lot slower you have the opportunity to give your opponents some weird looks

@@TheRockRacing absolutely!! I foot brake in a 12.7’s to low 12.8’s and normally run honest. Definitely hard to gauge my reaction time and if I’m on a fast run. When I think I’m dead late it’s a .00- something but when I think I’m on it I get .038 or something slower

I've always dialed honest albeit it was footbrake. I can count on one hand how many times I lost by 00. But I do see the advantage of holding a few and try to make the car run the number vs trying to judge the finish line and dial honest.
@TheRockRacing
@TheRockRacing 10 ай бұрын
I think either style can be good, just depends on the situation. If you’re hitting the tree well then dialing honest might be the play, but you’re more susceptible if you miss it

As a slow door car, I am almost always dialing honest, but every now and then the car will run off which gets me in the end. Me being the slowest car I always have to just the wheels. 8.50's to 6.60 cars are hard to judge when you are talking about 20+ more mph than you at the top end.
