Happy Birthday Marianne! Very easy bread recipe is a “Fab French bread”. You can halve it. Approx 5-7cups flour, 2 T yeast, 1 T salt 2.5 cups hot water, 5 T oil. I use instant yeast. Mix all together, let rest 10 min, knead, rest 10, knead. Make 2 loaves, slash top. Rise half hour, bake half hour

Izzy I'm not a quilter but I'm thinking about taking the jump. I have a 3 day weekend here in the states for Martin Luther King day on Monday, so I'm planning on sewing quit a few things, I have them all cut out. A Wardrobe by Me Men's classic cardigan for my husband's birthday that's next week, a Ballard blouse for me along with a Wardrobe my Me Balloon Cardigan and a couple of Harper cardigans. I love to bake bread. I have a Japanese bread machine, Jojirushi is the brand, that I got at a thrift store. One of my best thrifting finds!!! They are usually expensive. I make bread in there, and I've also made sour dough without it. I'm on a keto kick now (again!) so no bread for me for awhile. But I too love a good soup and bread meal on a cold weekend. Happy Birthday to Marianne. The skirt is lovely - looks very comfy. And your dress looks great - I almost bought that pattern. We like a good soup and use our soup maker frequently in the winter. Just throw everything in and leave it to do its work. I'm still trying to make a coat, well the muslin for a coat, which has been cut out and laying on my table since before Christmas and I haven't had the motivation to continue. I have just subscribed to help you get to 5K, as I watch you regularly. I have just started to add videos to my channel, and I am in awe of the vloggers who put content out on a regular basis and have all those subscribers and views - not sure that I will ever achieve that level of success, but I just wanted to join the community and share my love of sewing. It's a work in progress, and trying it with minimal equipment and outlay to start with. I'm just not used to speaking in front of people, but I suppose I'll get better.

Hi Izzy, Wonderful visit with you today! You've kicked off my Friday Sews queue this morning haha 😘 Thanks for sharing all your fun things this week! Our temps will be taking a dive tonight and finally some measurable snow - I totally get that nesting impulse. I have a slow-cooker tortellini stew that's a favorite around here, too. I love the colors on your quilt, you're making good progress on it and it will be lovely! My mom baked bread every week for us in Iowa; it wasn't fancy, just regular whole wheat bread. It was an efficiency measure then 😉. If you're looking for basic bread, there's usually one on the back of flour packages. Ages ago, Fleishmann (Yeast) promoted a quick-rise method which allows mixing up, kneading and putting into the pan for only one rise. (This is how I still do dinner rolls regularly) A lot of breadmaking is by feel - water temp and kneading - but honestly it doesn't need to be complicated and doesn't take long to get the hang of making a warm yummy loaf. Warm. With a little butter. And a good dollop of honey. (going off to check my flour supply because suddenly I feel like making bread 😶) Let me know if you have any questions! Happy Birthday Marianne! Izzy, I’ve made bread in the Dutch oven quite a number of times. I used the recipe in the book “Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day”. One of the authors has a class on Craftsy if you have access to that. Otherwise, there are many Dutch oven no knead recipes online. They are all similar and would likely make a good loaf of bread. It is delicious and quite easy. Good luck!

Best Wishes to the Birthday Girl on her very Special Day 🎉 You did have a great week, you plan your time so well and stick to it. Jenny Jones former talk show host has a quick, easy Dutch oven bread recipe on her website. She is so fun to watch. I can so relate to her as she is of Polish heritage just like me. I have made that bread at least a dozen times and you can eat the whole a thing in a day, especially the first one! If you have a thermometer I would check to make sure it is baked through. Should be about 200 degrees. Yum with your soup! I am still unpacking, but only a few boxes to go. Working on valances. Cut down a 4 panel floor length drapery for a door and was able to get two very full valance. Fabric is old but only had it hanging for two years, excellent condition. Queensland in Sunshine. I think the fabric would work for a long-sleeve tee, but it’s fairly substantial so might not work for a warm weather tee. I always sew up my Think Pink fabric right away - I really don’t want it to linger in my stash LOL Thank you so much for your kind words. HI I make bread every week.I mix dry ingredients one day, and when ready stir in the wet with the handle of a wooden spoon for 30 seconds. Prep is done. Walk away for 2 hours, then roll into pan. Mary's Nest has a lengthy hand-holding youtube of everything you need to know, called No Knead Sandwich Bread . Once you have slogged through the 27 min, ( you mentioned you don't bake bread very much) it is actually super fast, any version of the ingredients work, and pretty much foolproof. I line my pan with parchment paper up and over over the wide sides . This makes a slightly sweet soft bread , not the crunchy crust Italian style bread. There is a youtube short, that is how I think of it, search Easiest Home Made Bread Loaf :). If you use your Dutch oven pot, Frugal Fit Mom, Easy Homemade Bread is 11 min and pretty clear. She adds Gluten, but she is in the States, where I also added gluten. Back in Montreal now, and I don't need it.
