I think this is a great idea! Keep mom and pop close by in their senior years so you can help them with their health if necessary, and then after they pass away, you can rent out the property in order to back whatever you have spent on it. This is more ideal than shipping mom and/or pop off to a nursing home. So respectful and loving.

The last 24 years of my parents life we did like you. They are both gone , but oh! The great blessing! Precieuses memories. They stay with us right to the end. How amazing are you, to your parents. You four are blessed by, the Lord, above. My husband has advanced Parkinson's. He is confined to his hospital bed, in our home. I care for him, 365. We have been married 55+ years. Our Son has been absent for years and, wants no part of our lives. I have MS and, can get around. I just ran across this video and instantly clicked on it to see if it was you guys, glad it was. I started watching you all when you first started this project and never did get to see the end result. I am an older single female and am living with my daughter and son in law. Ii have been (for a ong time now) trying to build a cottage out of a building in the back but due to back issues and finances it has not come to pass yet. My son in law is also not skilled at carpentry like your husband so I am praying that I live long enough to complete and enjoy my project as much as your parents have been able to theirs. beautiful job... The cabin looks nice but I have a suggestion to make the living room bigger: what about building an extension to the porch and enclose it, connecting to the inside of the cabin via a door and move the laundry room there? This way you could remove that wall that encloses the laundry room and expand the living room.

I just came across this video and recognized the name because of Brooke and Jason at Cog Hill Farm. They mention you often. This is a wonderful little cabin! It is amazing how much you can do with a shed. It looks like a regular house. And it has all of the amenities too. What a wonderful thing you have done to get them closer to you. I know how that is because we are in close proximity to all of my in-laws and it is wonderful to have the help or give the help when needed. It is mutually beneficial.

That’s what I say about my tastefully renovated manufactured home with new double paned windows that also showcase peaceful views of the 2+ wooded acres…..yet still, the energy provider HAS to label it a”trailer” mobile home despite its permanent real estate foundation, and it’s discriminated against. A good thing when it comes to county taxes , but not so great if you need a mortgage on that 80k, or can’t find a local insurance provider.

Your parents are so sweet and grateful! I have a sweet friend I say is my auntie! They moved to FL and recently she was diagnosed with Parkinsons. We are broken-hearted to hear but more so that they are now far away! They never had children so I struggle knowing they are battling this disease without help! I pray that God opens someone heart and they can be a blessing! God bless you for loving and caring for then as it should be. I took care of mom who had Alzheimer’s for 15 yrs and it was so hard but now I am at peace because she was Taken care of! She been with the Lord 2 yrs now!

My children are not far from here, but how I would love for one of them to buy a nice property in nature, my favorite place to be, and you have a very nice view of the creek as well.
