You know the story of the little boy throwing stranded starfish back in the ocean. An old man chided the boy saying “you can’t save all of them.” And the boy answered, “maybe not, but I can save this one, as he tossed one back into the water.” WE The people may not be able to save them all, but take heart that we help “one family at a time”

@@UnicornPurple-ut8wf statistically, its more than saving one. Since the late 1970's there have been different studies through the decades showing that people who have been helped by one social service safety net or another are MUCH more giving in thier future lives. Further, they give at a higher percentage of thier income than the big rollers. There havent been as many studies specifically targeting in-kind donations (things and volunteer hours) nor volunteering contributions of folks who have a history of safety net help but they show a staggering dollar amount equivalently. My guess is that as a family and as individuals during the next 80 to 100 years, they will be doing some giving back.

This message is for the dad, man I've been there and it's hard to let other people provide for you and your family, it's somewhat embarrassing but you have to look at it from another perspective, #1: people want to help so right now take it, take all the help you can for the good of your family. #2 when you get back on your feet, (and you will) pay it forward, give back to another family in the future, it may be weeks or it may be years, God will put you in a position to help someone when the time is right. "This too shall pass" merry Christmas to your family from East Texas and God bless.

@@terrisatterfield6765 As a surviver of a hurricane that took my home, I can speak from personal experience. That man is in shock. It takes a VERY long time to recover from a catastrophe that takes everything from you. You are NEVER the same. When you are left with nothing but your lives and the clothes on your back, it irrevocably changes you! That poor family has spent months living like refugees in the richest country in the world. Add in learning firsthand that your own government has screwed you. The trauma of the event, the complete loss of everything you've ever worked for and then having to start over - it truly IS enough to shake you to the core. That poor man is simply trying to get through and move forward without being on camera. I understand. Not everyone wishes to be all over the internet. PRAY for him instead of judging him. Then PRAY for everyone else who is going through this, because there ARE SO MANY who remain without any hope in this situation all across NC, TN, GA and FL. My heart breaks for them every day because I STILL know people who have never recovered from hurricane Sandy - financially, emotionally, or mentally. Our gov, feeeee ma and insurance Cos are an absolute farse and a joke. Thank you to all who are making recovery for this family possible. I see/hear a lot of folk bashing the notion of "thoughts and prayers". Well, this is the result of such thoughts and prayers. If someone thinks this is hogwash, then they don't really understand what "thoughts and prayers" actually means. I saw it in action when in Erwin, Tennessee; I saw the generosity of strangers providing for those who lost everything. Many in their own way; quite a few rather magnanimously. This is what good folk do, each in their own way. Untold numbers of folk from across the nation (and abroad) heeded the call and showed up with their thoughts and prayers.

These videos should be sent to are congress and senate in Washington DC. It’s a shame our government sends so much to other countries and doesn’t help our own. Thank God for generous, loving people in our country. Thank you Jesus

Prayers and thanking God and all these people who have worked nonstop . Not giving up hope and FIGHTING AGAINST THE EVILS OF OUR VERY OWN GOVERNMENT. Starting over and keeping the faith in front of your children is beyond comprehension unless one has been there. And on ♥️🇺🇸 top of it , to continue with blind faith is truly Amazing ✝️. God Bless America 🇺🇸 Our home, sweet home…
