Now that is a daily commute I could make every freakin day Buddy....and the lake as smooth as a sheet of glass. Glad them Cedars didnt get all weird and get you. We got into a BIG patch of really old Ponderosa this last week and the smallest is like 38" across the stump. 90% of the trees have their roots eat off or weekend by The Big Black Carpenter Ants so it's a tangled up mess but well worth our time to get them rather than let them rot or become huge Ant Colonies...so far we have not found any where the Ants have got higher than the stump so were getting 60, 80 and some 100' really straight nice logs to buck up. Our Son is working on clearing a road into the middle of them so we can winch out and skid them. Fun for all
@thomasbee52183 жыл бұрын
Stunningly beautiful area - I worked up Indian Arm BC years ago building HUGE timber rafts/docks directly on the water - takes balls of steel to work with huge lumber - you feel like a tiny ant - truly another world all together ! I find it hard to make really sense of this expensive logging operation - seems to be cutting down a bunch of majestic trees - some pretty rotten - - not sure how much of the fallen trees are later flown out - all seem to explode on impact leaving only a few good salvageable pieces from each tree.... I guess that`s all it takes to make it profitable - kinda a shame. Could you later expand on what gets flown out and what gets to stay behind - thanks man
