New subscriber here 😊 catching up on your previous videos. I don't know if you see comments on old videos but I'll give it a go because honestly, I have to say I've been with Folksy for 12 or more years and I love it. So much nicer than Etsy in my opinion. It's cheaper, british, and there's a lovely community on the forums, ask anything nicely and you will get answers. Folksy has a small number of people working behind the scenes but will actually get back to you if you have a query. I think your items froms kits to needle felted items, totes and anything else handmade and even workshops would sell well. Folksy do like to promote new sellers, so make sure you put enough items in your shop. I'm not a Folksy employee but I do have a shop. You do need to promote, it's not got as many potential customers as etsy but it's well worth it. I'm not a needle felter. I love the fact I don't have to do so many fairs anymore, Internet selling came at just the right time for me. One other thing, have you thought about doing the knitting and stitching shows, they're phenomenal. Your kits would fly of the shelves. I've done them and visited. Harrogate can't be too far from you. Oh, and one last thing, why do you keep your best selling kit in the furthest most difficult to reach corner of your room? Everything you use most frequently should be easy access?😅
@feltsbyphilippaАй бұрын
Hi! Thanks so much for your lovely comment, so, yes, best selling kits were moved about 5 months ago after I kept standing on my desking and it wobbling away! I will visit the Knitting and Stitching show next year I think but I did/am doing two big events this year and Yarndale went really well, full vlog up. My kits sell well on Etsy too so I am reducing my other craft fairs next year and just focusing on one show a year which will be a lovely change and then my Patreon has just reopened. It's always great to hear that other online platforms are good, I only have one person I know who sells on Folksy so it's good to know you are doing well on there. Thanks so much for watching and commenting xx

It’s great that you have branched out into some new crafts and are going to have needle felting courses and tutorials. Great! Love the glimpses of woods and fields. And I confess that I would like to get my hands on all the beautiful wools that you have in your area.😊💚

I loved every bit of this video Philippa. Seeing you work behind the scenes was amazing. You work so hard. If I could, I’d sign up to any of your workshops but as an oncologist, I’m tied into my work. Good luck with everything you do, I admire your work and channel so much and I’ve learned so much from watching your videos. You were my first ‘teacher’ and you continue to inspire me. Love the doggies btw, I’m a dog mum too. 💕💕🐾🐾

The big craft show where I live runs about $625 to $1200 depending on the size of the booth. It runs for 3 days and people come from all around. Of course you have to include your tent, tables, and liability insurance. It is outdoors, has no electricsity and no refunds if the weather is bad. I do jewerly, 3d prints, and other crafts, there is no way I could pay that price. I do not see how other crafters around here do it. I have started looking for small craft shows that are within driving distance and prefer indoors... Question if you were going to do felting on an outfit would you use fabric glue on the back to secure felt? FYI, your fox turned out great. You always open my eyes to new things. Oh, I did get my mushroom kit from you yesterday. So, excited and can't wait to start it. I love that you video your walks. Gives me a chance to see a little bit of your country. Absolutely beautiful. I hope to visit the UK one day. Definitely on my bucket list... At the end of the year I always put it on my bucket list to do a temperature blanket. But come every Jan. I always put it off. Now it is the end of March and there is no way I am going to go back and check what the temp was for each day. Maybe next year. You have given me enough confidence that I am going to try to start my business on Etsy. I mean really what do I have to lose but some small amount of change to start. you are truly an inspiration.
@feltsbyphilippa9 ай бұрын
Thank you! So, I haven't felted onto an outfit but lots of people felt directly onto the fabric, especially wool, cotton etc but also denim works too. I am not sure if the glue would survive a wash. That fair is super expensive, I couldn't afford those prices either plus adding everything else on top too. Can't believe the mushroom kit has arrived already, I hope you like it, I am open to feedback as it's new, thanks so much for watching and I hope you do get to visit the UK one day xx
