So good to see you back in action. Lets go Vasily. I would add a raked skid plate to the front due to It being so low in case you hit something to keep you from coming to a compete stop. basically to make you jump over it. imagine if you hit a curb for instance. Food for thought.

Glad to see you back, and like all the updates sure there will be more in future. My 2 cents on this video is using "pillow bearing blocks" instead of your "live axle bearing holders" for strength/adjust-ability/longevity and come in lots of shapes/sizes/ratings. Also not a fan of hollow axles unless you are running a thick wall as gives to much allowance for torque twist and it warping under load also end should be sealed (i always run solid). Its all a learning experience but its reason i started asking professionals and tbh in my opinion after watching so many "gopowersports" sponsored videos i feel like quite a bit of there stuff isn't designed for what they/people use for eg. Tyres (there is no speed rating or temp) Honestly all just be careful, its all fun until something goes wrong and youtube is not a professional haha

Dual rear brakes is never needed, never seen a Kart that wouldnt stop or lock the rear end anytime you wanted with just the one? when I built my shifter the best addition was FRONT brakes!!!! that makes 200% difference in stopping power - Expensive, but well worth it

Hose clamps are not mechanical fasteners. The picture you provided were actually pipe clamps the only thing holding a hose clamp together as one side of the threaded screw into the sheet metal body. Do yourself a favor and get some U bolts like exhaust hangers. But you got some good talents bud. Keep it up
@JusttheEdge5 жыл бұрын
The clamps looked like t bolt clamps. He should be using something stronger.
@Bird76Mojo765 жыл бұрын
The hose clamps are only keeping his mounts from lifting or sliding left to right. The seat mount pipes are resting applying all of their pressure to the frame. The hose clamps only serve to keep it from moving left/right or lifting away from the frame.
@sixpacksandsrts91225 жыл бұрын
Bird76Mojo76 Yup. My reasoning for commenting this. Is there’s going to be s hundred thousand views on this vid at some point. A lot of which are going to be kids then going to build something. They will grab hose clamps to hold something structural together not knowing any better Especially after his explanation of them being used in race cars. Which Just is not true

I just subscribed to your channel, because that's an impressive build! I worry about the radiator location. When my son was at Villanova studying engineering, they put two smaller radiators in front of the rear wheels, on their 3/4 scale formula 1 race car. Never had any overheating problems.
@user-neo716655 жыл бұрын
Your ackerman is still way postive even in all 3 of those holes. The straight edge you are holding up there is supposed to go dead center of the rear axle and form a triangle with the wheels pointing straight ahead. You try to adjust the "fine tuning" with the tierods you are only gonna adjust the toe of the tire. With your setup I bet it gets squirrely at speed. In drag racing we use t bolt clamps, those worm clamps might work but I don't trust them. T bolt clamps are a lot stronger and don't strip out like worm drive clamps.
@VasilyBuilds5 жыл бұрын
Yes I can verify, the innerrmost tie rod hole was pointing towards the center of rear axle. It was just the awkward camera angle. Will have to look into t clamps
@bobwhite54405 жыл бұрын
great to have you back, doing well and building stuff again. very nice build. t-bolt clamps sound good to me also. enjoy your vids. be safe.
@user-neo716655 жыл бұрын
@@VasilyBuilds k bud and yeah t bolt clamps are the way to go. They are not even special order stuff, I get stainless steel ones from my local oreilleys. Napa also carries them but I don't have one local anymore.
@HEYY6375 жыл бұрын
You could put some radiator hose or some rubber inbetween those seat brackets and the frame to give some padding amd protect your paint when you paint it?
@lawrencecarpenter6385 жыл бұрын
If top fuel cars use hose clamps to hold a 1500 hp motor in only using a single clamp on the four corners.U will have a better chance of flying out of the seat before the double clamp on each of your mounts breaks.And its the perfect way to give adjustability as u said.
@victorhangaas67195 жыл бұрын
you have to have rubber washers on the radiator mounts! if you have hard mounted mounts you risk the vibrations of the engine, the road and the stiff chassis will make it so the welds on the radiator can break, there is a reason they have rubber mounts

Perhaps some kind of simple lightweight shroud or flaps off to the sides of the radiator to channel the air into it as it moves forward...if it turns out that your head blocks too much of it.
