I'm really sorry criticise your awesome animal signs. They look incredible and really educational. However, I noticed that you placed them above the enclosures. My sister uses a wheelchair and from experience we know that this will probably pose an issue for other wheelchair users. Maybe you could find a way to place a smaller sign with the info somewhere around the height of a wheelchair users eyes? That would be awesome for kids who are learning to read, too!!
@golddragonette77953 жыл бұрын

Would an informational booklet with a map be helpful? Or one of those audio guides that some museums or gardens have?
@anni25653 жыл бұрын
@@PrincessIzusu yes, absolutely. Also for people with sight issues. A booklet would be awesome and easy to take with you even for wheelchair users. I can think of a thousand reasons why a booklet would be awesome. Like, for animals that hide, the visitors could have a closer look at the pictures before searching the enclosures for the animal. Or parents who can't pick up their kids but want to read the text out loud to them. Or for little family games like "who finds that specific animal first"

That breeding facility certainly didn't help, but their distribution doesn't fit that being the only source for Burmese pythons in the Everglades. No one is mentioning how you're adding sanitary trash cans in both bathrooms which is just a great thing to do! Even if it seems like you didn't originally think to do it. Another awesome addition would be to add a little thing of tampons and pads to both bathrooms too. Whether it is just a box where anyone can take one if needed, or one of those little quarter operated ones. One other thing you could do for accessibility is to offer people access to the classroom or another area when it is in use on a need basis. Basically, they'd have to ask to get in, but don't need to give a reason. It would be helpful for people breastfeeding as well as disabilities that cause sensory issues as well as for people with other disabilities. Personally my body freaks out and treats standing up like a marathon, so places where you stand up the entire time can be hard and even more so when it is warm inside. My blood pressure also drops over time while standing which can be dangerous. Any place that has a kind of private room is amazing as I get to lie down flat to get blood pressure back up without people staring at me

Emily, don't forget that not everyone is as tall as you. I think hanging the information cards that high is a bad idea, it would be really hard to read anything so high, espwcially for kids

Some signs are high, some mid-level and some are low depending on the enclosure’s location. Some are quite low and you have to bend to read them. The arrangement feels completely reasonable. There’s no way every sign can be at the same height, and if they were, someone else would inevitably be left out.

@@guy8646 this is true. I hope there are more options in the future, like audio tours like some ppl have mentioned. Like, to be clear SD is already going above and beyond, just smthn that may or may not be a good idea down the line

Seeing the Zoo and Retail area growing and becoming what it is now has been such a fun and stressful journey, even as us just as viewers. I live in Michigan, but my boyfriend said one of these coming months we can try to make a trip to come visit the zoo! I've been a long time fan and am so excited to possibly meet you all!

The long journey finally nears it’s close…or in this case it’s opening! So amazing! 😂 On a completely unrelated note I watched my snake eat for the first time tonight-and by that I mean he eats regularly but I’d never stayed by the enclosure to watch him until now. It was such a bizarre experience! I’ve watched snakes eat dozens of times on this channel, but it’s so different when it’s your own pet. I didn’t expect there to be little noises, like his jaw and muscles working and him breathing/hissing around the rat.

You know it's 3am and your last two braincells are exhausted when your legit thought about a bunch of donated isopods is "Emily's and Ed's pet parrot started a business? Good for her."

Hi Emily and Ed I’m really happy that I was able to find this Chanel I am really happy that you are helping people and guiding them to treat their reptiles right as a new snake owner I’m glad I got one since you have a lot of snakes including some royal pythons the same snake species as mine her name is Chloe (like your snapping turtle) and she is a pastel morph only 6 months old
