@@wallewonks no, it’s not him. I also think we should give him some grace because there are a lot of products out there, these kinds of finishing powder are pretty inaccessible though so most people don’t know how exactly to use them, and the packaging most likely did not have had directions

Setting powder is for setting your base makeup, they’re typically matte or semi-matte and oil controlling. Finishing powder can be used on top of setting powder, they are not really designed to set makeup or control oil, it’s like one last thing you can use to bring some dimension and life back to your skin if you don’t want to be completely matte. People that don’t really deal with oily skin can usually get away with setting their makeup with a finishing powder or just wearing that on its own. Hourglass’ Ambient Lighting powder is a popular finishing powder that can be used lightly or strategically all over the face but you wouldn’t want to apply it as heavily as you would setting powder because it would look off and wouldn’t work for most people to set makeup.

@@hanakikoi no ma'am, I use to nerd out study old episodes of soul train to learn to dance and some of those men and women looked like they had a ghost mask at certain angles. The curse of flashback from certain ingredients has always plagued us especially anyone with a tan or deep skin tone 😜

Becca used to have something like this and people had the same complaint. And Alamar cosmetics had something similar in a pressed powder format as well that I again think not a lot of people liked. I think it just doesn’t mesh well with a lot of peoples foundations

The frustrating thing is that a lot of brands will put out tutorials on social media telling people how to use a product and people will _still_ get mad when it doesn’t work the way they want it to. People just buy stuff without really looking at what it is or if it’s even meant for their skin and then blame the product when their makeup looks bad.

This is what gets me about influencers who don’t actually research about the product. You did an amazing job at actually using the product well. However, others go on rants about how a product is trash or isn’t good, etc. when the product isn’t even used properly. It obviously won’t work as good if it’s not used the correct way/intended way. Yes, some or a lot of products are bad but some are formulated to be used in a specific way…

I've been using finishing powders since the 90s, and when I tried to switch to setting powders, I hated it. They have different looks, feels and applications. Nothing wrong with either, but they are quite different

Actually to expand on the brush part. You actually want to set your skin with setting powders first then you use an big fat fluffy brush. Nothing dense. And it’s actually meant to be a final blend of all the powders on your skin to give that truly flawless filtered look
