The shanties had me worried the "waxing music" was going to be changed..... whew. Thanks for all the enlightening and entertaining videos Ron and Joe. I came for arcade repair videos but stayed for the pinball repair videos.

As always, great job on this Ronnie. The flow on this table is very impressive. Lots of cool shots. Thanks for all you do, taking the time to film these fixes, touch ups, etc...etc....There are so many of us who really appreciate your time and effort week in and week out. Cheers from Canada.

One of the things I love about these videos is seeing the evolution of these machines over the decades. Like how this is an early solid state machine but still does EM things like counting back the bonus as it adds it to the score to ape having a bonus unit. And how it has the same kind of sound board that was added to the later EMs as a drop in replacement for the old fashioned chimes. Anyway, good series boys, both machines look great.

The Dracula face replacement on the cracked plastic cover on the ball pop up is genius. I have that pop up feature on my game I know you’ve seen the work around to protect the plastic, a small metal hood. I can imagine the operators cursing the manufacturers every time they had to shell out for replacement plastic pieces. I agree with your philosophy on game cosmetic appearances. I didn’t want to feed quarters into a pristine machine, it could mean it’s a dud.

Considering the 2nd one is the "less good" playfield, I struggle to tell the difference after the touch up, they both look fantastic now.

Yeah, I guess the color is shifted a bit to avocado. As for diodes on solenoids, that is to keep the collapsing field from going back upstream since it is a DC unit. As for how that affects the switch matrix, I am not sure. Unless it causes bus contention or something.

I can't wait for Halloween, will Ron wear his old Dracula costume? Will you be releasing the deleted scenes from this series, or will I have to wait for the DVD? Like the installation of the button battery. Love your videos on Friday afternoon, always something good to take me into the weekend. More Cowbell ! At 45:30 does the ghost of Harry Williams face appear on the playfield.

We know Ron reflects in mirrors so it'd be better if he screwed bolts into his neck and went to a costume party as Frankenstein's Monster!

that lower right display's burn in pattern is because that was most likely the credits display. it spent most of its life displaying 00 00 which is why the center bars are fine but the "0" segments are burned in. Two of the digits don't get used at all and those two are like new still.

Another really entertaining series of videos. To me, this game, Stars and Meteor are all twin sons. They’re not the same but all have a similar vibe to me. I reckon this era of Stern games are just great games for anyone’s game room. Thanks for the continuing education Ronnie and Joe. Fantastic work on bringing both of these beauties back from the brink.

It's frustrating when you put new drop targets in and 1 or more of them drop when resetting. Sometimes the target is hitting the rubber belt and the belt knocks it back down. It seems the old belts were thinner than the new ones made now. I've had to tighten the springs on the drop targets to try to solve that problem too.

Crunchy glass sounds are never good, especially on something that's supposed to be sealed. Nice looking machines, and it is an interesting layout, just shows you can have fun flow on a play field that doesn't have ramps.

The bad diode messing up the switch circuit is probably cross-talk. When you have a changing voltage on one wire a tiny amount of it gets coupled to nearby wires. Without the diode there's a _huge_ voltage spike on the coil and if the wire is close to a sensitive input line it will register. Why it was messing with one switch but not others on the same line I do not know. Maybe one of the outputs on the chips is weak or maybe a pull-up resistor is higher value than the others.
