Hey, Nick! Great job at making this one! A little tip on drawing the bow. Try placing the arrow on the right side and lift your left thumb up to catch the arrow. It would be easier to draw the bow that way. You will also engage your back muscles more by doing this, and you will be able to draw the bow further back(pun intended. LOL). Happy training, and more power to your channel! 👍👍👍

With proper form, that's not a thing - Shadiversity and Matt Easton have been refuted on this. If Joe Gibbs can pull what are basically Guinness World Record weights with the arrow on the left, I think it's safe to say that's a good way to do it.

Beast.🔥 I had a 1 inch pvc pipe of 48 inches with me. Saw this video and tried to make a bow. Used the 48 inch and made 6 inch handle section,thought it'd be too heavy, so made 6 inch siyahs separately. Its kinda like a mongolian inspired look. The bow looks good...but I can't string it...2 strings broke.and now I made a more powerful one. The bow have a reflex. Maybe that's the reason I can't string it properly. So I'm working on the limbs a bit. Compromising on the reflex a bit. This thing is heavy to pull. I'm guessing 60# 70#. Thanks a lot for the inspiration Nick.👍 Support from India.✌

Traditionally, a bowman would be expected to "pull his weight" (hence the saying)... literally 150 to 200 lb bows!! The skeletal remains of English bowmen indicate huge deformity depending on which hand/arm pushed and which pulled. Two observations, these folk were expected to learn and did so from an early age... if one started with a 20 or 30 pounder as a child, and then consistently stepped up bow weight month to month or quarter to quarter - keeping up with body weight would be achievable, just like any incremental training program. The other, is that the English bowmen differentiated between drawing a bow, and as they did - bending the bow. I'm probably preaching to the converted, but heavy bows are a niche interest and this great content inspires! Thanks 🏹

OK i'm not expert on bows but 100 lbs sounds like it's enough to kill big game and at length of 47" that bow packs hell of a punch. I mean it's small but powerfull so this makes me think that even bear won't be standing if hit with an arrow coming from this bow. So if i'm making mistake by all means correct me!
@jeffreyroot63004 жыл бұрын
Big game, including bear, have been hunted for millennia with lighter draw weight bows. This is a war bow. The punch is for penetrating light armor.
@carlosdonald86444 жыл бұрын
You should think about selling bows online. I would pay for the 100lb one. And I'm pretty sure that there are other people out there who would as well.

I want to make this bow so bad, the perfect arrows to shoot from this 100 pound Turkish bow would be Plains Indian Broadhead arrows, for all intensive purposes the heads of those arrows are practically knives!

One good technique if its really heavy to draw would be to draw it like a heavy longbow, using your back and legs while drawing up, it might look weird with a recurve bow but it might work out better

What's the shortest you could safely make a PVC no heat straight pipe bow with fiberglass rods in it? What would the draw weight be and how would it be effected at around a 28" draw length?
@skylerslack124 жыл бұрын
Is it possible to add some material to the back side side the handle, to really get that Turkish style grip? Maybe foam, or shaved wood or PVC?
