I love to watch your little fixes along the way, like the hose clamp on the slide hammer end to grip the screw. It's the kind of stuff we do during our projects almost without a thought, but it always tickles me to see other people's ingenuity at work! Your calm approach to the good and the bad alike is a welcome change from some of the frenetic channels. Keep up the great work!

You seem to be down, tired? Getting towards the end of a project I seem to struggle…..it’s like work rather than an interesting adventure. You know? Doing great Mr. Hillbilly 😂! The extent of the damage you have taken on is beyond what sane humans would conceive. Only true gearheads would think of doing either of these refreshments, your commitment is notable and undeniable. And seeing you work on something that isn’t dripping toxic compounds and contaminating everything that is touched is amazing. I have to recognize the improvement in cleanliness tonight. Kudos!

I know the internet is filled with keyboard geniuses and sorting it out without going insane yourself is the hardest parts of sorting out good information. Some people mean well and others are just down right mean. Charlie is a handsome animal and having my own pet great company. Coming along great, this new clamping system is growing a lot with use of shrinking a fitting tight. I never thought about just tapping on those fuel washers for the banjo fittings would help seal things but makes sense. I am with you all the way on this..... and someone out there sponsor this man with a decent forklift!!!!

A normal forklift isn't going to work on the dirt ground he has outside his workshop. He needs a workshop jib crane to save his back and make work easier.

Very true, I always think of forklifts in the “chunkier” variety (think pre telehander) as that is what we have on our farm brings its own set of problems with clearance in smaller buildings though 😬. Warehouse style ones are rubbish on anything other than smooth concrete I suppose. Def needs something to save the strain.😁👋

I'm an engine builder for 55+ yrs and now I'm down to motorcycle size. It's so good to watch and listen to your detailed commentary (its the kind of dialog that goes on in my head, what sealer here, what grease, what oil), you will go far. I have recently been using silicone grease on rubber parts to prevent breakdown, but I'm still not too sure if matters. There are good high quality rubbers and really really bad ones. I am a huge Isuzu fan and have a 4JJ1 in my ute in AUS. Love your work and will cheer when you hit 100K which will be soon I'm sure. Oh yeah those hose clamps are WAY COOL!

The best for sealing easily hot aluminium parts is to use copper o-ring. It's thin walled copper with fibers inside the hollow (you can't see fibers unless you cut it). It flattens easily according to both surface when crushed by a bolt. In Europe it's easy too find under norm DIN 7603-C. The C is a must, it stand for the shape or you will get standard copper washers. Greetings from Belgium.

There are many sizes of Vee belts. Not just the width of the back but also the angle of the sides and the overall depth. Alig ing the sheaves is important but check the alignment of the various shafts for parallel. Probably won't be a big deal on this but something to keep in mind.

Matt, you should always pre-fill your filters before installing them. One tip that will help, on fuel filters, use transmission fluid to pre-fill them, it helps to lubricate the injector pump and injectors. It's a old trick I learned from a retired truck mechanic and it really works. Makes the engines run pretty good too!
