the rollover hoop would be a great place to mount the intake for the engine as well. Baja beetles run huge scoops on the roof like that, so it doesnt look entirely out of place

One thing I really like about your builds, is not skipping steps. You design it, tack it, light testing, then stripping and final welding, real test, stripping and painting. It's nice when you can do it that way and not skip steps to make things quicker.

The hoop is a great addition, I understand what you're saying with "the look" you're striving for, but once you are in there with your white helmet on it'll hardly be noticeable. The hoop doesn’t look bad but integrating a rear tire rack to the roll hoop would not only improve the look, but it’d be functional, and add bracing to the hoop to make it legitimately race ready. Could make it removable too so it wouldn’t get in the way of working on the engine. It’s super common to see spare tires sticking way up in the back anyway. Could look sweet! Loving the build and can’t wait to see more!

Chassis is looking great. The hoop is essential and barely detracts from the bug body, makes total sense with your head poking out. You should put 2 horizontal tubes under the window sills though to clot those V tubes you put it because all that flex is focused on the point all the tubes meet at the bottom of the V. The top bars will help but have enough flex since they're not triangulated that I'm worried especially coming off a jump or wheely and the front or all suspension landing and bottoming out. This machine has fo much potential to be insanely fast and capable!

Those gaps on the sprocket guards seem like they’d be great little guides for branches or other obstacles to run through and lead to damage from snagging. Kind of like a cable going through a guide and when running its length, it hits the cable ends. I’d recommend closing those gaps and inserting drain bolts.
