This sounds exactly like my process! People say that I write too many drafts, but it takes so many mistakes while writing and revising to get things right 😭😭😭

Being a pantser is who you are and it's served you well. So while it might not always be smooth, don't doubt yourself. Change will happen when and how it needs to. This WIP has been an uphill battle and you're learning things about yourself and your process, But don't you worry or doubt. You Got this!!

if it makes you feel better, even with plotting it can be hard to see exactly what you want to do until you are actually in the draft and actively writing. i plotted my 3rd draft of smth i originally wrote in 2021 (it was pretty bad and completely underwritten), & i'm about 60k words into it, which is already 20k longer than the 1st draft and just deleted like 14 scenes from my outline and an entire arc from the novel that has to do with my MC's mom's wedding and am now, in draft 4, gonna rewrite it so that his mom & step-dad are already married because I realized it simplifies things in a good way and cuts down on word count. that is, all this is to say, you absolutely got this!! pantsing or plotting, neither will always go exactly according to plan.

I'm the same while drafting, pantsing and then revisions and editing has more of a plan. It takes as long as it takes, and that's okay

Aw Sarah, try not to worry. If you are good at pantsing, do it that way. Every writer has their own way of writing and that is not bad. I wonder if it would help you if you had your puppy watched for a certain hours while you write? Is there someone in your family who can help you watch her?

Oh yeah, the struggle bus is real in this one vlog. Keep going, you will push through like you always do! :) Btw, how much longer are you keeping the x-mass tree? No hate, I was just wondering, doesn't it clash a bit with the easter themed decorations?

Maybe this advise is late but, I'm going to give it something I learned from another authortuber. Send what you got so far to your editor. Continue to work on the parts that still needs work on, telling your editor that you'll send them once you got the story until the point that feels right to you. I hope this helps out and good luck. You are doing great.

Whatever you do, don't buy Boehme the Hartz bacon-scented toy (ball or bone or flying saucer). They're addicting (for the dog) and all of their other toys no longer get played with.
