Capítulo 3 y última parada de nuestro viaje por Galicia. Finalmente llegamos al cabo de Finisterre, también llamado "Finis Terrae" o "Fisterra", en Gallego.
El atardecer desde el faro no pudimos grabarlo por los fuertes vientos, pero aun así espero que os guste el vídeo 😊
¿Por qué es tan famoso Fisterra?
Durante siglos, este lugar fue considerado la frontera entre la tierra conocida y el Más Allá, de ahí su nombre de Fisterra (fin de la tierra). Durante miles de años se pensó que más allá de él tan sólo existía una sima acuosa en la que el sol se apagaba cada noche y a través de la cual se llegaba a una región de tinieblas poblada por monstruos marinos.
En las leyendas celtas es frecuente encontrar imágenes de héroes que hacen su último viaje a este paraíso en una barca de piedra. Esta unión de piedra, mar y espiritualidad pervive en distintas formas a lo largo de la Costa da Morte.
En la punta del Cabo nos encontramos con el Faro, que, por su localización, es el que está situado más al oeste de Europa. Este Faro es realmente importante ya que advierte a los navegantes de la proximidad de una costa realmente peligrosa y traicionera. Su luz puede alcanzar los 65km de longitud.

Chapter 3 and last stop on our trip through Galicia. Finally we arrive at Cape Finisterre, also called "Finis Terrae" or "Fisterra", in Galician.
We couldn't record the sunset from the lighthouse due to the strong winds, but I still hope you like the video 😊
Why is Fisterra so famous?
For centuries, this place was considered the border between the known earth and the Hereafter, hence its name Fisterra (end of the earth). For thousands of years it was thought that beyond it there was only a watery chasm in which the sun went out every night and through which one reached a region of darkness inhabited by sea monsters.
In Celtic legends it is common to find images of heroes who make their last trip to this paradise in a stone boat. This union of stone, sea and spirituality survives in different forms along the Costa da Morte.
At the tip of the Cape we find the Lighthouse, which, due to its location, is the most western in Europe. This Lighthouse is really important as it warns sailors of the proximity of a really dangerous and treacherous coast. Its light can reach 65km in length.
