The song definitely works with the stage performance. It is catchy and danceable but might be slightly too repetitive without the visuals. The MV uses old windows screensavers in it but I think I preferred their stage show as seen here. The Spa Mix version keeps it retro 90s but in an entirely different way.

What was it about, you asked. Windows95man has worked with that name for 10 years, already, and the very short denim shorts are his trademark. So this is an imaginary tale, how he was born from a denim egg, laid by a denim bird (here played by his vocalist, Henri, notice his jacket that looks a bit like the plumage of a bird). As a new-born he is naked, and doesn't know that he is supposed to wear trousers, so the cameramen and everybody on the stage do everything to block the view to his crotch. Finally, he gets his famous magic shorts, and the party starts. This has also references to the Finnish national epic Kalevala, where the whole world and the universe was born from an egg. The denim boots that Henri wears, are covered with denim that is woven like the traditional Finnish footwear "virsut", which originally were made of birch bark. Then there is of course the message of the lyrics, that could be summarised "be what you are, and don't think about what other people say". So as you see, they have actually put quite a lot of thought to this performance. As a side plot the producer comes to show him the rules, which he throws away, because "No Rules".

The big egg is propaply related to Windows95 OS. Microsoft included their earliest products "hidden Easter eggs" Windows95 man is hiding in the egg, so it is a joke😂😂😂

Many times in North Eastern Europe your pants come from the sky and burst into flames. It's just how we lived in the 90s.

W95M is actually a visual artist. He has been doing DJ work for years. In an interview he has told that No Rules is about artistic work and crossing your own limits and boundaries, letting yourself go to create something new, different and interesting. Rules should do not apply in creating something new. On ESC stage it is quite difficult to break the rules except doing something new and totally nuts and something that shows e.g. the paradox what comes to half-naked women on ESC stage contra half-naked men on stage (people in their underwear: how it is okay if women are almost completely undressed, but if men are in their underwear, better do it right - and W95M is doing it quite wrong). In a way you could interpret this as a statement that less rules that make all the acts look or sound the same could be better for the competition itself. The song itself is quite generic, 90's-esque eurodance song. But the act itself is entertaining, at least for some people, and the song is quite catchy.
