With the introduction of OWL players from across the world are getting better reaching occasionally surpassing, that south korean level. This makes great plays and viewing experience watching a more level playing ground.

sadly the committee for Team SK chose THE weakest possible team for the current patch. The 2 strongest teams in the world on this patch are London Spitfire and Team Runaway, and Not a single mmber of either roster is in the team. Nevertheless, once you've been chosen, it's up to you to either rise up, or fall.

the thing is, the patch is going to change again before the blizzcon, and it's impossible to predict what would be the better korean team for that time in advance. South Korea will qualify for blizzcon regardless of the players they picked, what's important is the blizzcon patch. They picked players that performed really well pretty much the whole season of OWL, so there's a big chance of them performing well at blizzcon. Any other choice would just have been a random gamble.

and you are right. Nevertheless, the Team SK committee held No trials for their team and selected the players based purely on their OWL performance. If you are going to pick people without a merit based trial system, then you had best be prepared to choose the strongest lineup you can for any circumstance.

I was one of these spectators. At final match i was really nervous and i will never forget the moment that we(i am korean) finally win a victory! You can listen that yell and i did it also lol It was unforgettable memory. It was first time that i visited to a sport stadium and it was really good, also i could see all of players and take picture! I wish i can see more plays at korea and also at others because i wish many people have experience like me.

While I understand why they didn't choose Birdring at the time, I still don't comprehend why they wouldn't choose Profit. Even when Spitfire was struggling, he was still playing every hero he picked at a fucking insane level. The SK roster picks just felt so biased this year. There was literally no practical reason to take Carpe and SBB to the same event, because they have the EXACT SAME HERO POOL. There wasn't ever going to be a point where they realistically need the SBB Tracer in order to win, and if they happened to need Tracer, Carpe has a damn good Tracer as well. But they brought SBB anyways, and they even took him to the qualifier when they knew tracer wouldn't even be that useful anymore. It's a wasted player slot.

For example World Cup 1 had the community vote thus having half of the lunatic hai roster plus others like Zunba from meta Athena. Although I couldn’t remember how they chose players for World Cup 2 but I’m quite sure it wasn’t just one coach. This year’s vote is probably most biased of 3 years

This is real overwatch as it should be. Haven't seen it in a long time. You do have to give blizzard some credit getting the game where it is. It was a tuff transition but how could it not be with so many variables and levels of play. We final have both good counter picking and counter metas. No more mirror comps of dive or bunker or death ball.
