Its a shame Finley Quaye went off the rails in the way that he did. I heard this song for the first time in years recently, so Googled his name to see where he is now, and it made sad reading. Heartbreaking even, considering the message of peace and joy that ran through all of his music, and all how many people it has touched over the years. Despite everything, anybody who can conceptualise a song like this has beauty in their soul. I hope he can get back in touch with it.

Recent news brought me here. It's been a long time since I last listened to this song, too long. First time I heard it on headphones my mind was blown from the timeless sheer beauty of sound. To me, it is a love song. not one directed towards a specific person, it's a love song to this world. It could be cruel and full with misery and sometimes vile but it's all dwarfed when happiness and love hits you. I've never read the lyrics and looked for the original meanings because I'm afraid they wouldn't match the sensation this song gives me. I remember him watching him filming this video way back when I was a young boy i would of been about 10. I lived in those block of flats in the background.
