Yeah... If the show was full of sound reasoning, proper safety equipment, and meant to appeal to the masses then it would be a very dull show indeed. I dare say, honestly, I'd have not made it through a single episode. I presume that you are much like myself in that way; Meaning that if the show were concerned about things like strict adherence to safety, absolute adherence to traffic regulations, and an absolute regimen involving appeals to authority then I'd not have bothered with even a second episode. I'm "late" to the group/fan list. My first episode was one where one said to the other that the burn out he'd just done was something that was expressly disallowed in that particular parking lot. Finnegan, he was driving at the time and I believe it was a primer colored Charger or Challenger, promptly stomped on the gas, burnt more rubber, and nothing more was said - not even a giggle. They just drove out the parking lot and continued on their way. I should also mention that it was at about that time that I became a fan of the series. I still am though I'm worried that they're going to put them behind a pay-wall. I already pay a bunch of money for media access online. If they tied it in with Prime, Netflix, or Hulu then I'd be happy as can be. But, I don't think I'm going to pay for anything more at this time. I guess I can afford it, that's really not the issue, the issue is that I end up paying for stuff and not actually bothering to watch it often enough to justify keeping on paying it. Then, because I'm lazy, forgetful, and inebriated, I never bother to unsubscribe. For example, I mentioned Netflix. I've been paying for the biggest Netflix plan (including shipping DVDs) for I don't know how long now. It has been many years. I might, at best, watch one show there a month and that's averaged out. I suspect that I watch a part of a series there, once a year, and that's it. I've not ordered a DVD in years and year. My daughter uses the streaming along with her affianced at their house. I think my son may use it but probably uses an American proxy to do so - he lives in Peru now. I don't really know - I don't watch enough to pay attention. Hulu+? I paid and I think I've watched it three times since I started paying. That was years ago too. Prime? I know I get it but I've only watched one video. Ever... I don't think my kids have even watched any. I will watch when the new version of a renamed Top Gear comes on. That's cool, I guess? So, no... I won't want to pay for more stuff that I won't use. I'm worried because so many of their shows are pushing the motortrendondemaind.com site and I checked the site out and there's very little content there that's free - they want you to subscribe for most things - even the older video was subscription only. I don't really mind the money, I mind that I'll just forget and keep paying when my attention has moved on.

I got a taste of high speed boat action as an 18 yr old apprentice back in 1985. The owner of this small block chevvy powered speedster tried every normally aspirated combo & hull modification allowed in what appeared to be "open NA class" but could never crack a ton (100 MPH) through the timing traps. A group of us apprentii got up @5am one morning , & had the boat in the water just before sunrise. We all got to do a few runs on the glassy water & hear him curse at the calibrated onboard speedo asking for 1 extra MPH. Every run that morning the speedo showed 95 to 99 MPH... I thought I was used to travelling fast at the time , my first car back then could comfortably cruise on a ton & wind out to 130 MPH on any highway , but riding shotgun in a boat @ 99 MPH gave me a new view & perspective on what going fast was all about. Running 99 MPH on water put some discomfort & possibly fear into me , seemed like driving at over 150 MPH in a car that was only good to go 80 MPH....

Having a hard time understanding that tree. they always leave after the single red flashing light and well before the green shows up...
@davisharr8 жыл бұрын
I believe the actual start line isn't until about where the light is, because boats float around in the current and wind you can't have a perfect standing start, it would be nearly impossible to line them up, so it an approximate lineup, with a flying start, trying to cross the line as soon as it goes green.
@unijabnx20008 жыл бұрын
But what about that rope they are hanging on to that slowly raises while the light flashes...
@davisharr8 жыл бұрын
unijabnx2000 thats how they roughly hold themselves there, because in a jet boat you cant steer well unless you are moving quite quick, without that rope they would have a hard time even facing towards the start line, let alone be kinda lined up.
@prelude2tube8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the explanation. That was bugging me immensely as well.
