Question, Since I first happened to See a Video by You, (riding in Finnegan's 700 HP Jet boat) or something, 1200 HP, whatever it was, I've been checking in with You Guy's, Often.. So, noticing that It's always a Jet boat... I grew up, learning to Ski behind Grandad's little run about, He bought it for Us Kids, so He n Nana, could take the Cabin Cruiser and go fishing.. Anyway, eventually, n this is proof My Parents were cooler than Me, My Parents bought a Flat Bottom from the Guy across the street, little 16 ft. Schiada With a 327 small block Chevy, V drive, with a Crash box... Still to this day fastest Boat I've ever been in, it could pull 5 skiers out of the water like nothing! Now I know, what I'm talking about is nothing compared to the Technology of Motor, plus, even Hull design of the Tunnel hull, pickle fork, I'm guessing tunnel, beautiful boats, by the way.. Question is, Why don't You run, or better yet, What do You think about running a v drive?

It don’t bother me seeing a hopped up boat go by when I’m fishing a tournament. I don’t care too much for them wake boats, when they’re kinda close. I’d rather some one go by on plane when I’m fishing then half throttle creating a big wake. Plus it sounds better.

Yeah the thing about the jet boats is usually they sound awesome with their big ass engines and almost all guys can respect a good sounding engine. I wouldn't mind seeing one either if I was out in a tournament because I've always dreamed of owning a jet boat, so I admire any guy who actually can afford one.

Most of those wakeboard/wakesurf boat owners are assholes on the water. They get way too close going by you if you're anchored rocking the boat way more than necessary, and some of them will do a loop around you where all of the waves meet right where you are anchored. I have no remorse for any of those sacks of shit if I seem them having boat/engine problems or sinking. You spent $200,000+ on that boat (e.g. WakeSetter, MasterCraft X Seires, Super AirNatique, Paragon, etc.) you can afford to fix it if something goes wrong.

I really enjoy the jetboat content. I've watched your video and Kevin's video of this and it a lot of fun feeling like I was tagging along. It all brings back memories from when I was younger. We didn't have near as much power but it was still fun. I had a friend who ordered a Taylor SS jetboat with a 454, thru-transom exhaust and adjustable trim. It was yellow with metallic blue stripes to match the Suzuki RM MX bikes that he raced. I thought that boat was a monster and it topped out just over 60, maybe 63. Being a dirt bike guy he was very familiar with porting cylinder heads so he took the pump apart and polished all the sand casting marks off the inside of the housing and polished up the impeller vanes. It took forever. It also didn't make a bit of difference on the performance of the boat. That was disappointing but the boat was glorious nonetheless.

A metal mesh grill might be a good idea to act as a “fire”wall but more for hair/arms/hats/etc on the ‘family wagon’ with custom metalwork it could be totally beautiful and fit right in! I've never seen red-ish smoke come out of an exhaust before and I was confused as to what that could possibly be when Game Over took off. Then I realized it was the rust from the inside of the exhaust from sitting so long without being used. Wifey's boat was making Game Over jealous hahahaha.

Had the same issue with my spectra and my bbc 496 I literally used a water well pump relief valve from true value it was 12 dollars change the 75 psi spring to one that was like 13 to 18 super soft and sure enough it worked perfectly 4800 rpm with only 15 psi water pressure at the manifold!!! Waste gate blows the seat open requires sleeve slipped into the waste gate exhaust tube with a wedge shape to help the exhaust make the first turn. Think thick plate on the wedge. With a few holes to allow the waste gate to not get hammered open by the leading edges of the exhaust pulse.

On the eventual side outlet. You will want different angles so the engine outlet angles down and the intercooler comes out higher . I worry about shooting water into other boats when along side in the river

Game over has much more power and weighs much less. The wife’s boat hull is built reasonably sturdy. Game over’s hull is super light to where if you lean on the wrong spot it’ll crack or break.

In offshore we use a relief valve in the water intake wich realeases alt 15 pounds no matter the speed or rpm . Hope this helps

So it is until recently (you’re the second person I’ve seen use a Mac valve) I have come to realize that working maintenance at a paper mill that we use the exact same valves for conveyers and tampers. Just like with a vehicle with a radiator you have to slow the water down as it goes through the radiator so it will have a chance to take the heat out that's why it's necessary to have a thermostat even a low temperature

Our shop is made of concrete blocks. There's one that's been pushed out 3" from a bottle of oxygen that wasn't chained up and fell. It hit the block so squarely that it didn't pulverize it, just pushed it out. We were going to repair it and our boss said no. He made a plaque and hung it above the impact saying "THIS IS WHAT LACK OF SAFETY DOES TO A BLOCK WALL. WHAT WOULD IT HAVE DONE TO YOU?" and every new employee signs the wall next to it.

You need trim tabs on the transom or even easier bolt on a cavitation or ride plate that extends under the jet drive from the transom. Quicker plane - lower plane speeds and helps calm down porpoising.

Feed the engine with a single #8 and have two #8 lines out for the engine. I have been doing this way for years on ls engines in marathon race boats. you should see approx 18 psi block pressure with that.

If you wanna get down to it I doubt running that jet boat causes much if any more of a disturbance to the fish than one of those bass boats with a 2-stroke v6. I do like how the 4-stroke outboards are quieter and smoother. You might have even helped those guys by stirring up bait fish and causing a reaction strike on their lure.

Pressure regulator is not supposed to be inline. Jet pump water feeds a T, one side of T goes to the engine/whatever you are cooling, the other side goes to the regulator, the regulator dumps overboard. This regulates pressure, not flow. The trick is to make sure you get a large enough pressure regulator ID to dump enough water, to maintain the pressure you want to run. Flow can be regulated via a valve before the engine if necc, or a restrictor plate in place of where the thermostat would normally be. (i.e. if you want to run at a higher temp due to cold lake water)
