NZ Salt Flats Racer yes, they are! Got to drive one on a wet roadcourse just this last saturday, and it was awesome!! Very direct, very instant, basically does anything you could ask it to do while being tremendous fun AND teaching you to drive. You climb in through the window with the steering wheel out the way. Three pedals, sequential shifter and super quick steering (about a turn lock to lock).

Easy is relative to what you are used to I guess. Easier than a current WRC car? Probably not. They look to have a really huge steering lock angle. For what these cost compared to a rally car they offer incredible value. I'd love one. Cant imagine they would be allowed on traditional rally events... here in the UK at least.

@@paulhope3401 I haven't driven wrc cars so I don't know about them. thats some incredible driving. especially in that thing where all the weight is in the middle/rear i bet that things really snappy. not to mention on snow which isn't necessarily a bad thing. but you have to commit more than ever since if you bail mid drift in snow like that, you'll either be understeering into a tree or spinning out into the bank. not much room for error vs pavement where if you bail properly you have some chances of hooking up and getting through the corner ok if you slow down and get weight on the front wheels. plus in the snow you're always sideways; you could always have a bad entry, maybe it doesn't transition quick enough for the next corner, maybe you swayed a tad bit off the racing line so you have to compensate with more angle on the next corner, who really knows. and remember, all the weight is in the middle/rear. probably pretty snappy and responsive.
@peltikoppa3 жыл бұрын
Thumbs up for the analysis 😁 from my own experience, they are pretty much understeering (at least on tarmac) in the corner entry if you fail to transfer the weight in the front wheels. So basically you need to turn the car with brakes and when the rear starts to slide, you control the angle with throttle and steering wheel
