Your teapot cozy is crazy-but absolutely my kind of magical crazy! Get well soon! Edit: thank you so much for taking some time to address the tragedy that happened this week! As I’m sure you know, the same thing happens a lot in the US now, but it’s become almost normal here. I really appreciate you saying that an event like this is proof that adults are failing our children-because over here, it’s seems like too many of our “leaders” shrug and claim there’s nothing they can do. I pray that tragedies like these remain rare exceptions in Finland (and elsewhere too), and that your policymakers actually find solutions that will keep children safe.

For me, what really helped me prioritize self-care was the oxygen mask analogy. If you were in an emergency on a plane, you should secure YOUR oxygen mask before helping anyone else, even your children, because, if you don't, you may not be able to help anyone at all. It takes a lot of practice and repetition, but, eventually, it was this image that was the most powerful to me. Take care of yourself, Jana! xoxox

I hear you on not being able to rest without feeling guilty. I have long covid and can do very little, so the moment I have a little energy I immediately feel obligated to use it for something "useful". What helps me a little bit is to use that guilty feeling to rest better - if I rest properly NOW, I'll be recovered sooner and able to to more work then. If I don't rest, I'll stay sick longer and won't be able to get as much done. It's not entirely getting rid of the unhelpful impulses, but kind of using them to your advantage. It helps me a little bit in the short term while I'm working on the long-term project of learning that I'm just allowed to rest. Your tea cozy is fantastic, I almost squealed when I saw it! The red amanita mushroom roof is my favourite part. I can't believe you made that in a single day!

Love, love, love all your knits! You have a way with yarn and it's incredible to see what you create. Some people paint on a canvas, you paint on objects or bodies with string from your nest of creativity 😊 Beautiful work! 🧶 On another subject, learning to take care of yourself is hard. One of my teachers in nursing school told me that if I don't take care of myself first, I won't be able to help others. I believe this translates to everyday life very well. Take some time for yourself will be more beneficial than rushing your recovery and potentially making your situation worse (or drag on). Another thing to remember is to be kind to yourself. It's easier to be compationate with friends and family than with ourselves. Give yourself the same space and care you would a loved one. Get well soon ❤

I’M IN LOVE WITH YOUR TEA COZY!!! LOL It is so whimsical and fairy forest-like. As soon as I saw just the tip of the roof come into view, I immediately thought of gnomes. It’s a perfect enchanted forest dream come true! If you have the desire to, you should write a pattern. I would absolutely buy a copy! Perfect call using a tea cup charm instead of a bell. I am still trying to grow out of this habit and I am not there yet but a very good strategy is asking myself what I would want for the person I love the most in a certain situation and when I have the answer, I try and apply that to myself. The tea cozy is the cutest thing. I love your creativity. I live in Germany and have just recently discovered your channel. I watch your episodes everyday and would like to thank you for your inspiration. I don't feel guilty now for casting on a cardigan while working on 3 crochet blankets for my daughters. I have also knitted the frog last year and I am knitting my 10th emotional chicken which I give away to people in need. You inspired me to finally knit something for myself. In Germany we skipped spring and yesterday had 28 degrees already. Today they said we will have 30 degrees. I used to live in Canada and know the feeling waiting for spring. I would like to also visit Finland one day. I m looking forward to watching all of your episodes ❤ Thank you
