I can weigh in about how well Drops Alpaca wears... I finished a Rille Funky Grandpa sweater in August 2021 which is one of my very favorite sweaters, so I wear it at least every couple of weeks all winter, and often for days that start at 7am and don't finish until 9pm. It pills just a bit under the arms which is easy to shave or pluck. Very highly recommended! I know you're protecting Clucky from all the foxes! She's beautiful.

😄 Thank you so much! I've only worked with Drops Alpaca once. Unfortunate that's when I found out that I'm sensitive to certain types of alpaca. I was fine with Drops Nord and Brushed Alpaca, but the 100% one was irritating every cell in my body. 🙈 So weird.

I love how your leftover Advent yarn Scarf, or the giant pompom scarf turned out! It’s Fabulous! I have my Emotional Support Hen started, and I think you just named for me. Kana Vista! Hen in Finish and Latvian 😄as you taught us. The white cable sweater look wonderful, fluffy and soft. You can tell it is light as can be. I also have trouble with some types of alpaca! Some makes me go crazy with itch, yet others, especially the blown in type yarns are fine. There is a local to me Alpaca farm that has their alpaca fluff spun up un dyed that is so soft, and doesn’t itch. M planning a lace shawl with some. Hope you have a cheerful week, and your eldest has/had a wonderful at his friend party 😄

Love the colors--I have trouble using bright colors and pairing etc so I am happy to live vicariously thorugh yours! Have you thought of making Franny a Vertices Unite? I was thinking of the swatch that Mr. West now has out with the pattern, that it might be perfect for her...Thanks for making me smile and giggle (I'm all in for the silly! Good fun). I hope the birthday was fun--double digits! Sure grow fast don't they even though we don't age (oh wait until they're teens, then you age 😂)

Thank you so much! That's the first think that I thought about, when I saw the tiny swatches! 😄 My girls (Frannie and Clucky) definitely need tiny Vertices Unite Shawls. After all, it's my favourite shawl pattern. 😊 Oh, yes, double digits sneaked up on me. We had kids quite late, so I'm already the older parent. Clucky! I had to go get the pattern. I am in the same situation as you when it comes to large needles. They just hurt. I can go for hours with needles that are 4mm or smaller. Anything larger just gets progressively more painful. Although, I've found that straight needles or crochet with larger sizes isn't as painful as large circulars. I would've thought the opposite, but I can stick a long straight needle into the crease of my knee or under my arm to help hold it. I think part of the pain for me is holding up the excess fabric created with thicker yarns or maybe even the needle weight. I find that wooden needles are better than my ChiaoGoo needles the larger they get. I can also use a variety of techniques with smaller needles, like using my knitting belt (even though I primarily knit continental) and that helps. Love that you share part of your life with us. Tell the big kid Happy Birthday. Take care and have a great week.

Glad you finally got some sun! I l9ve your finished objects this week. I have an unfinished cable sweater sitting in the UFO pile, because the fronts dont match AND I mis-crossed the cables during shaping. 🙄 Its a complicated Celtic design & not intuitive at all. Love hearing of weather and goings on, makes places feel more real from so far away. I live in US but know things are so different elsewhere and I want to learn.. I got some roving beautifully dyed but spinning it hurt my hands so much. Am fighting the thumb pain and weakness in lower arms/fingers when knit. Tired of reality.
@FinnishKnittingStories8 ай бұрын
I'm so happy you're enjoying my local weather channel! 😄 Oh, I'm so sorry about the pain! I noticed that I get spinning pain if the fiber has a very long staple or I unintentionally hold the fibre too tight. You could try to loosen it up or pre-draft it before the spinning.

OK, so I LOVE the neon orange and pink together! I might have to steal your color combination since I have a cone of each stuffed in my stash. Why I have these neon colors in my stash when I look...let's just say those colors don't go with my coloring. I had a moment last fall when I decided I needed more neon in my life. Green, blue, orange, yellow, pink. I went completely off the rails with the neons. lol Also, how brave are you with a white coat? I'd be a disaster in a heartbeat if I tried to wear a white coat. lol
