The old one isn't banned, the footage used in the video is 5-6 months old. That's an internet rumor which spread when the emblem was replaced with the eagle, but the flag is the same for now.

It was the symbol of a Swedish baron who gave the FAF their first air plane, so the FAF adopted it out of respect

Swedish Count Eric von Rosen donated a plane to the newly independent Finnish state in 1918 and painted a Viking originated symbol of good luck on the plane. Later the Finnish Air Force adopted it as their official symbol and insignia. Now days it's only used by the Finnish Air Force Academy as it had to be abandoned from other use due to political reasons.
