I'm always saddened knowing that, as good as it is, this song doesn't even scratch the surface, and most reactors will never hear the glory that is 'Good God', 'Chi', 'Reclaim My Place', 'Dead Bodies Everywhere', amd so many more.... the bass, vocals, and rage are hidden on the less commercialized tracks.

I love watching people's first reaction to Korn. It brings me back to the first time I heard them. It's one of my favorite bands of all times. Like them or hate them, its a visceral reaction either way. You're the 1st one that I've seen try to mimc Jonathan's pycho babel. Great reaction

This is not really related to the reaction content at all, but I wanted to mention it. I've been itching to learn a second language for a few years now, and after coming across your channel about two months ago, I was struck by just how much I liked the sound and flow of the Finnish language. I decided to start learning it, and somehow convinced my wife to learn it with me. We're now about two weeks into it, and I would just like to congratulate all Finns everywhere for having, what has got to be, the most absolutely chaotic word salad grammatical structure ever. It's like learning how to perform brain surgery with only your non-dominant hand, blindfolded, in the back of a van with no shocks, speeding down a dirt road. Which is to say... I love it. Thank you for starting me down a path that I'm sure is going to provide me with years of questioning if I'm going insane.

I didn't get into Korn until probably 2000-2001, several years after their initial debut, but they were one of my favorite bands for a very long time. I still really like their albums from back then and I keep meaning to check out everything they've released since I stopped listening to them as much. I heard that their sound changed some and that they're no longer like the old Korn, but that's okay because bands often (and should, imo) change and grow. Not every band can be like Hatebreed, who afaik basically never changed and pretty much released the same album like 10 times lol (which is impressive in it's own way, if true)

These guys really changed the sound of guitars too. Take an (at the time) obscure instrument - the 7 string guitar - and then tune it even LOWER. When you first heard it, it was unlike anything else any band was doing and it was difficult to really identify why it sounded different.

Very glad to see this song on here for analysis. And I always remember when this track dropped. I was living on my own for the first time, and found a social circle to join. We had house parties, with this (then-new) album playing at them. Soon I heard it released on radio. This band and that era really mixed it up musically, which I’m all about to this very day. (P.S. Please be aware people may suggest other KoRn videos which are far darker without considering reactors’ feelings.)

Your imitations in this video have me convinced that you can do anything with your voice, Anna! And I've always liked that you can appreciate so many different styles of music. I don't actually listen to Korn, but I've always liked this song. I've probably tried to recommend this band before, because I really want them to get more recognition, but have you heard of Tesseract? They're a pretty well known prog metal group but if you look at how much engagement they actually get, it seems like they're not that popular. It's weird, and a shame, because you'll quickly see how incredible Daniel Tompkins is as a singer. He has every vocal ability you could ask for, and his tone makes me think he was born to be a vocalist.

Jonathon sings in a LOWER KEY, as the guitar (7 String ESP's) are set-up naturally in B, but tuned down in DROP A. This compliments his vocal because he stays in his NATURAL range. Understand that nowadays, most vocalists do not sing without pitch correction equipment. As a rock cover-band vocalist, I learned this years ago, because I have three-octave capability and dont use pitch correction.

i know that a vocalist doesn't have to be technically skilled to be Effective, but this analysis is really reaffirming to me that jonathan davis has way more technical skill than most folks appreciate. he's just more concerned with creating a particular mood than he is with showing off his more traditional vocal skills. it was remarkable in the 90s and it's still remarkable now.
