It's great that all of you are having a good time, and I'm sure it's amazing being out there in the open ocean when the weather is good. I bet you also have some scary stories of your ocean adventures too. I've always been highly sensitive to motion sickness, so I'll never go out on a boat. I've thought about doing one those big cruise ship vacations, but I'm too afraid to risk it and end up being sick and trapped on the ship till the end of the cruise. Of course, a cruise ship isn't really comparable to a small boat experience. I wish you all the best and smooth sailing ahead.

As a past blue water sailor.. the biggest cost was things breaking and the entire pullout and overall work. It seemed for myself that owning a boat was a battle with nature/salt.. and nature/salt was going to win.. sooner or later. The boat your family owns looks amazing.. all that teak inside.. ouch.. but.. beautiful. Those 15 years i lived and sailed on my boat.. will be powerful wonderful but expensive memories.. thanks for sharing. Look forward to your first pull out video.

Hey story teller Finn. I am a fan of sailing Zatara, and sort of watched you grow up, now you have your own KZbin channel. I want you to be very successful. In my opinion your success hinges on your skill set of making "motion picture stories". I took it upon myself to give you unsolicited advice regarding two basic film school precepts, the first precept is technically an abstract thought process, wrapping your head around this singular precept allows you to think and process ideas in a more organized film maker sort of way.

If you're looking for more ideas since night photography is kinda limited on a sailboat, do some research on light painting. You use the bulb setting on your camera and you can literally like paint with light. Its super cool. If you don't have a bulb setting, you can also try setting your shutter speed to like 30 seconds or something and try it then!! :)

Ok I'm way too old for your ventures. But but I gotta tell you when I was about 11 I learned to sail at summer camp (Camp Billings Lake Fairlee Vermont). I went to this summer camp for 8 years if I am calculating correctly. And once I passed the swing test (I was forced to pass it because my older brother was the lifeguard in the rowboat and he forced me not to give up even though I was begging for him to get me back in the boat). Anyway after I passed that swimming test I was permitted to take out any of the boats on my own. We had rowboats, canoes and sailboats specifically Sunfish. A Sunfish is really a one person boat althought it was treated at a two man boat. Very small one sail. And I loved to sail that Sunfish totally by myself. I could stay out for hours. And I learned how to do all the tricks you could do. One of the the sailing test was to capsize the boat and then get it back up on with your own strength. I later became a CIT. Counselor in training and was part of the sailing team testing sailing to the younger campers. That was my last year at that Camp. And the last time I got to sail the very thing I loved. I went back for their reunion and I was about 50-55 then. I asked if I could take out a Sunfish and they let me. I stayed sailing for 2 hours before they sent someone to remind me to return the boat pronto. The sail came back to instantly and I realized I was born to sail. Honestly I never liked sailing with a team. Never sailed on a large boat like the one you and your family are using. You father was so right in switching the whole family to this adventure. Its will make you and all your siblings very well rounded people. And individuals that will understand the different nations. I really wish I could have know that this was a possibility when I was your age. It would have changed my life. I did have an interesting life anyway maybe not exactly what I wanted but it was an adventure when I look back. But sailing Wow! I am jealous! Probably shouldn't be! Please enjoy what you are encounting. I do have one serious question that keeps making me concerned for your family. When you sail around the Suez Canal are you (or your father) concerned about pirates? We keep reading and seeing all these sea priates that ramson these boats that sail through these waters? Are you prepared for encounters that hopefully never happened. Ok that's it! Enjoy the blue waters. At least your not near the East Coast of America where all the beach are going to get the blob in a day or two!
