DMart is the best with offers and is really best for the lower and middle class but its very congested and also lack of parking space encroaches upon the roads and creates traffic jams, eg.Kolshet Road,Thane . Their billing system software is fantastic and fast.

In my city raipur(c.g), there is "shubham K mart" who is a good competitor for DMART, it has opened more outlets than dmart in the city at various places which resolve the issue for the buyer to go to outskirts of city for DMART. Also they provide similar discounts like dmart, of course not as good as dmart but they are giving tough competition to dmart.

Don't you think Dmart is essentially into 2 businesses 1) Ofcourse the Grocery Retail 2) Real Estate Ownership And the thing is if you already have a business model (Retail) which would have a phenomenal ROIC as compared to Real Estate which generates 10-12% at best and basically will result in similar cost saving for DMart. Isn't it better to just focus on the high ROIC business would use a lot less capital and in turn help profitability as the margins can appear low due to rent but would need a lot less investment. And Dmart has targeted the audience of the Indian Market which values time less and won't mind spending their weekends which could have been entertaining family time wasted in tedious shopping experience. Hence it doesn't appeal to me as very forward looking.
