Good to see you out with Dave again and out in the dry on a path too! What a great path that was mind through Great Knott Wood and into the little village but I love walking in a forest (that lake looked amazing), real surprised you don't. Looked a tough climb up to the actual summit but a good view in good and dry weather, cheers Alan

yea we discovered after this walk that there is no defined summit of finsthwaite heights so we were just walking around like headless chicken trying to find something that looked like a high point.. probably shudda read the book before we went haha.. but aye worth a larl bimble up to that tarn, very soothing, cheers Alan, tek care :)

We found the ssme rocky outcrop as the summit, beaut walk around the tarns, nice to see them again 🥾🥾⛰️⛰️💙💙

aye we didnt know at the time of walking round the summit was 'undefined'.. hence why it took us 5 hours, we kept on seeing mounds that look like summits before we checked and decided that was the highest point.. cheers, good walk tho :)

Belting walk that. Unknown to me but I think I'll have a go next spring early on. Thanks for that. Well done for finding the smallest cairn in Lakeland.

Looks like you posted this one while I was staying in a cottage at Finsthwaite from where I did the walk from the middle as it were. In one of you other videos (forget which one) you said it was a ‘heck of a drive’ to the southern lakes from Carlisle. Don’t be such a wuss, man!😉. I’ve just driven down from the Outer Hebrides to bag as many Outliers as I was able in two weeks. Now that’s a heck of a drive!

@@oldcodgerwithacamera well as a write this I have just driven 6 hours north up to torridon, I might be able to see the outer hebrides from liathach tomorrow.. 🤗..

Nice video, Dave. This looked like a very pleasant, enjoyable walk - something my wife would enjoy. The view of the tarn with the trees reflected in the water looked really inviting, I bet it looks amazing in autumn conditions. How many more outliers do you have now? Keep 'em coming, Dave. Take care.

30 left, still alot of driving tho as they are all scattered smallish walks, so the only thing slowing my progress is i cant be arsed driving 70 miles for 2 small fells haha. aiming to finish on sat 2nd november, black combe.. aye it would be a decent camp up by that tarn i reckon, sure you could find a nice secluded spot round the back of it, cheers, tek care :)

Alright Dave, been put on to your channel through a comment on mine, going to start the outlier's myself soon, ill keep an eye on your videos for some tips, cheers pal and keep the videos coming 👌

good stuff mate.. there are next to no videos on them.. other than myn id refer you to 'fat boys on tour' videos, they have the most comprehensive guide to the outlying fells.. my walks kinda show you the detail on foot tho.. id recommend you start with 'the bannisdale horseshoe'.. it'll give you a good idea of the shit you are getting yourself into.. they are worth doing but dont expect a walk to end with dry feet.. cheers lad, tek care :)

@@daveostlemountainman I'll be posting some videos of the Outlying Fells in a couple of months, maybe with a different perspective and quite possibly by different routes. You can watch me get lost a few times!
