Just had an actual fire (small, contained, no real damage) but the fecking 'standard domestic interlinked smoke alarms' wound me up no end.... the lack of a 'silence alarm' button is infuriating. I am so getting a system :)

Oh awesome :D Yes the main reason I replaced that working stand alone smoke detector is because it was far to sensitive being a ionisation detector and it don't have a silence button. I shall re purpose that detector in a cupboard or something. But ya I been meaning to replace it with a optic that ties into my system for some time. Just alot of hassle with fibre glass insulation getting in the way when i was drilling and running cables in the loft.
