I was surprised when it sounded like a Spectralert Advance! Was expecting it to sound like a mini-horn or a home smoke alarm

Well, it is system sensor. But yeah, a weird outcome. I most likely will get this for my new fire alarm system.

This is just a small tidbit, the RA terminal is the positive terminal for a remote annunciator like the RA100Z and the B200SR is the remote version of the sounderbase meaning it can not be coded or synchronized. The B200SR is intended for isolated operation. The B200S can be Synchronized but can only do circuit Isolation. The B200S will set off every notification device on the same circuit instead of the one sounder base.

I saw sounder bases in the Marriott residence inn in Anaheim and I saw two sounder bases but, one had a long detector thingy. Next to it was an advance, but it was white and it had chimes. The lights on the sounder bases were green

In other words, its a SpectrAlert Advanced integrated into a smoke detector.

Nice! I always thought those bases did like a old smoke alarm code 6 tone or code 3 with a piezo sound to it. Interesting.

firefreak57 me too honestly then I saw the low frequency sounder base at ADI
@Fahrenheit40516 жыл бұрын
Many of the older ones did. But since sounder bases are usually for sleeping areas, they switched to low frequency.

My dorm has 500hz speaker strobes in the living rooms and 3200hz sounder bases in the bedrooms. They alternate their sounds between the speakers and piezzo sounder bases, so its like BEEP beep BEEP beep BEEP beep BEEP beep BEEP beep BEEP beep

Houses should have these instead of high chirp alarms
@Avianca-rr3rf3 жыл бұрын
You can get these for homes, but the system is more expensive and requires quite a bit of wiring.

I have 2 questions. #1: If there was a full fire alarm, would the sounder bases go off, as well as the normal fire alarms? #2: If there was another smoke detector in the same zone as the sounder base that activated, then would there be a full fire alarm?

A couple things, first off, the zone 1 type programming you changed is only used for reporting in zone mode and has no effect on the local system, secondly the sounder base requires 24v constant power, not from a NAC as it is required to have a power supervision module located at the end of the loop to supervise the power on the ext terminals. you do not use any NAC circuit. Also, the AR does stand for auto restore and the detector will silence itself and the other detectors when the smoke clears. The newer ES series uses the B200S bases that are programmed to activate from the panel, these are really controlled via the detector and interconnect wiring. There is a way to control them via the panel and a relay module but that is for another day. I am assuming this is a hobby for you and very well done. If you are an actual tech, you may need a little more training are some knowledge on codes.

Hello, I'm Working on a Silent Knight IFP-2000 in a coastal environment and am replacing corroded detectors and sounder bases. Of course I am setting the address dials of the SK-PHOTO detectors to the proper address but according to the B200S manual, the base has to be put into the learn mode to capture the new detector's address. Can you tell me how to do this? I cannot find the procedure in the IFP-2000 manual. Thank you in advance.
@TheFirePanel3 жыл бұрын
I unfortunately don't know too much about it, however reading the instructions it sounds like this is done automatically by the head installed in the base.. That is if I'm understanding it right. The only time you'll need to know addresses is if you're setting up some kind of mapping so that several bases activate when one does, and unfortunately I'm not too well versed in that, I've never had to set it up that way. I can suggest maybe posting over on forums.thefirepanel.com to see if anyone there has more information?

That smoke detector seems to have a spectralert advance horn behind it which this is a good combination for spectralert advance fire alarms.

Why Does it sound like a spectralert advance/l series. It should sound like a home smoke alarm.

@opfireandsecurity29046 жыл бұрын
Zachary Fleck KR alarms is talking about the sounder base as a device. They are much more common in the UK and some systems are entirely Sounder Bases. If you want to see them just search "Apollo sounder base" and you'll find a sh1t ton of videos.
