In terms of accuracy, This is fairly accurate, except those initiating devices are European call points. The USA & Canada use Pull Stations. Same with those Notification Appliances, Those look like European Sounder-Strobes, While the USA & Canada use Horn-Strobes, Chime-Strobe’s, Or Speaker-Strobes, or the remote variants of strobes, speakers, horns, or chimes.

It's Life safety devices every city in United States should require the installer to be qualified and have a fire alarm license

I have a question regarding outdoor/weatherproof alarms. How come sometimes they put outdoor alarms indoors?
@realpars2 жыл бұрын
There are many reasons this would be done. One, in case of a fire/sprinkler discharge, it may get pretty wet inside the building. Using a weatherproof alarm would preserve the device. Another reason is maintaining the minimum number of spare parts. Using the same alarms inside and out reduces the number of spares that need to be maintained.

Can u pls answer these questions 1. How much should be the distance between 2 detectors according to nfpa 2. In one loop how many detectors v can connect 3. In one loop how many devices v can connect. 4.which type of cable used in fire alarm system n size I will be grateful to get dis answers. I will be waiting for ur answer
@realpars3 жыл бұрын
NFPA 72 Chap 17 says that the distance should be no more than 0.7 x the listed spacing for the detector (refer to manufacturer's data). Normally the listed spacings for detectors are 30 or 40 feet, so the maximum distance would be 21 - 28 feet. In a single sensor loop, you can typically connect 32 sensors/devices or more, although this is dependent on the controller model and size of power supply you are using. For fire alarm systems, type FLPR cable (or equivalent) is used. The size of individual conductors can range from 22AWG to 14AWG, and the number of conductors per cable will depend on the requirements of the detector or device. Typical cables have either 2 or 4 conductors for most applications. This makes the cable diameter range from 0.15inch to about 0.25inch.
