Fire Emblem: Awakening: Azure/Inigo and Chrom (Parent) Recruitment

Figured I'd record it while I was filling my Support Log.
As for Azure/Inigo's name, it's just that he's been simply reduced to a Princess Bride joke.
As for "Ylisse", the flower reference for "Iris" when compared with "Plegia's" original "Perezia" is gone. Same with how it's a double reference for "Iris" with the mark on Lucina's eye.

It's funny that I pretty much can't see inigo as somebody else's son ever since my first playthrough which surprisingly ended up with chrom marrying olivia by total accident and didn't know anything of the game beforehand. He actually looks a lot like chrom (the hair color pretty much sealed it) and has a much more interesting relationship with his father than morgan.

I must respectfully disagree on Ylisse being a crap name. Marth's sister was named Elice; they named the halidom after her, with some appropriate corruption over two thousand years. Much like how the continent of Valm is named after Alm from Gaiden. Your opinion isn't wrong - it's an opinion, by definition it can't be wrong or right - but I thought I'd share that tidbit with you.

That's a stretch. Just because Alm is named for Valm does not mean "Elice" was for Ylisse just because the English pronunciation is close to it. If I remember correctly, some other source explicitly stated it was named Valm for Alm in Gaiden. There's nothing corroborating your statement for "Ylisse". "Iris" with "Perezia", as well as the rainbow reference with Mount Prism is less of a stretch than the opinionated "tidbit" you shared. Of course, your explanation is valid as well... but I don't think many would agree that "Ylisse" was for Marth's sister. Unless of course you have a source for that? There are reasons for changes in localization. But Awakening is one of those games that takes Woolseyism in a way that *I* personally don't like. Azure's name got changed simply because it conflicted with the name of a jewel.

Great, now I want his name to be Azure even more. >_< ...That and when I originally wanted to pair Olivia and Chrom it was because Lucina could get Luck +4 (woo-freaking-hoo...) but more importantly Azure (a hue of blue) had blue hair and Rightful King (huzzah!). ...Also, "Azure Dragon".

From what I know, Owain and Inigo are the only children that get their brands mentioned. Poor Cynthia, (Chrom's other daughter/ Lucina's sister) I don't even know if she has a brand. >:0

In Awakening, the children's hair color depends on the father, the sole exception is female Morgan, who gets her mother's hair color instead.

Eh, I honestly think Sumia's the best choice for Lucina. She gets the best of both worlds in strength and speed, and a wide variety of classes regardless. It's totally not worth sitting around the map she joins for about who knows how many turns for a ok result you can get really early on...plus, I'm not terribly fond of the pairing myself.

I read somewhere that the "Iris" of the original version was actually a reference to mythology, and that it was specifically noted that it's NOT pronounced the same as the flower. (Ylisse makes it less confusing in that case :P ) As for Azure/Inigo... I like "Azure" better, but I won't bitch about the localization name change. XD

I don't know that when Chrom marries someone other than Robin, the other kids get the Brand as well (since the game never mention if Morgan had a Brand).

Cinnamaldehyde Actually not really after chapter 11 there is a timespan of 2 yrs before lucina is born. Thats plenty of time for chrom and olivia to get to know each other

People don't want to admit it, but there will always be that "I don't want any other people to marry my waifu/husbando". It's just that some people are more vocal about it than others. I've toned down about it since 2 years ago when I got this game.
