Unfortunately, Jimbo isn't that good of a unit. It's bad enough that he's a bag of doorknobs-locked infantry unit, but his low Skill means he struggles to hit anything, and his low Con severely limits the sacks of doorknobs he can even use without getting weighed down.

@@CenturyBlade Reminds me of Ross and Garcia. Although this one is a bit different since Garcia's a retired soldier who joins you too alongside his son. Ross's speech to his dad is great. Their supports also tie into this a bit, with Garcia telling Ross not to be too reckless because he doesn't want him to die. He may be a tough kid, but he's still just a kid. And then there's Lugh, who's an orphan and has no parents to tell him no! Though his support with Ellen confronts him being a child soldier, with Ellen thinking Lugh shouldn't be here because he's 13. Lugh literally retorts with "But I'm only two years younger than Roy!" Roy, the literal leader of the army. Ellen just passes that off as "Well, he doesn't have a choice." And Lugh has to prove to Ellen that he can defend himself. I'm a big GBA nerd so I don't know how well the modern games confront child soldiers, but the GBA games did a pretty good job.

That's how most wars are fought unfortunately. Some children have no choice but to fight I am pretty sure this picture is painted pretty well when Prince Marth's entire kingdom was destroyed. Imagine being the heir to a throne which was taken. That's the type of perspective you have to understand here. It doesn't look that serious especially with NES, SNES or DS graphics(maybe a little more here) but the scenario is actually quite grim. You see this trope often in the series too and it's also a part of our dark history of warring. If you watch the Fire Emblem OVA conflict is depicted with a lot more seriously.
