This is just basically "on the fly" and "being too tired" to put in much effort. It's also possible I didn't double-check if I got everything in, but oh well. So uh, enjoy this rashly made compilation of movesets.
Maybe when there's DLC with added classes and characters I could redo it all properly.

1 video for each regular class (and/or promotions). 1 video for each unique class. 1 video for each character's unique action OR 1 video for each faction's character's unique action. Those are a lot of videos. I don't envy the amount of work he would have to make.

So witch of these has the largest sweep and area of effect attack? In other words I attack once and 50 soldiers are down for the count.

which combos "send enemies flying" for skills like Balthus's and Ignatz's?

You'll have to experiment with different classes, but generally a full normal combo can send enemies flying. Or a strong combat art/tome attack.

To answer your question, I’m going to use their preferred classes as an example. If you keep Balthus as a War Master, the skills that send enemies flying are the full regular attack chain, the 3rd strong attack, the 5th strong attack, there 6th strong attack, and the warrior special. The same goes for ignatz in the bow knight/sniper class with the exception of the 3rd strong attack

a year after the release of the game but I still don’t understand exactly how characters work in this game, since it’s a warriors I’d assume you are able to have them all and the game isn’t like houses where at the end of the route you have nothing left to do, but there’s still characters locked to each route? Or how can one have dimitri and Edelgard on one same route

In the "story mode" quests, you're locked to specific units in that route. However, there's a "free mode" where you can use any units you've recruited and being on NG+ after clearing routes.

You technically don't need to play the original 3 houses. But it would enhance the experience more if you did.

No it's a Musou game, so it plays like Dynasty Warriors... Hack and slash with open world elements plus the gauge for specials.
