Likely human caused. It's extremely unlikely it was spontaneous ignition, there isn't enough loose plant material in the reserve extension for that to be seriously considered. The entire reserve extension is almost all costal sage brush and Torrey Pine trees. The sage brush creates almost no plant material that could pile up on the ground.
