Having a great marriage is not one person's job, husbands have to love their wives as much as the wives submit. Jesus Christ is the perfect example of love, the way HE loves the Church unconditionally, even while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. So where do we get the doctrine that a wife must submit first before the husband love her? It doesnt matter who loves or submits first, we must do whatever it takes to keep our family in line with God's will. This right that has an African culture undertone, not necessarily all Biblical. Secondly, We are human and God expects us to behave as such so far its without sin; all i see is that she is pretending to behave like nothing has happened. If that happened, the first thing you want to do is ask questions and let then know that you dont really like being treated that way and whatever the outcome of such conversation, you forgive. Having said that forgiveness for some people is a process, pretending nothing has happened doesnt solve problem. It needs to be discussed, there should be candid conversation. In all these Gospel movies, the make it look like a woman or wife has to take the fall and do everything alone to keep a marriage, now before people start quoting a wise woman builds her house, the Bible says in the New Testament that we should submit one to another including husband to wife and wife to husband. This also has an Nigerian culture undertone. Overall, im still blessed as i learned to give my battles to God and sometimes not to sweat some stuff. Thanks for sharing. God bless yall.

If you saw the movie very well, you will notice that the same night Mr Morris returned from the incidence, the wife did not pretend as if nothing happened. She approached him in the bedroom to DISCUSS THE MATTER. The husband shouted her down. At this point, she had to make a CHOICE - to either shout back and 'set the house on fire' or maintain her cool and allow the Holy Spirit to lead her. She chose the latter and won her husband back. Agreed submission in marriage is either way. However, when one of the parties is not willing to submit, and is poised for war, the best bet is for the other party to submit so as to quench the fiery dart of the enemy. Good movie but not balanced. I understand the moral but I think this movie is a bit unreal. Firstly everyone will get angry(I didn't say react) if cheated on. Secondly if we are not careful we will find ourselves enabling the slave and master ideology of traditional Africa and not necessarily Christian teachings. Frankly I think men would love this movie!

Your observation and opinions are most welcome. However, permit us to clarify a few things: 1. According to you, "everyone will get angry." We think it is better to say some people will get angry. People react to bad situations in different ways. Some may shout, nag and fight, others may choose to be quiet, cry or even laugh. The fact is that, God created us differently so there is no one standard way of reacting to situations. 2. You also said: "if we are not careful we will find ourselves enabling the slave and master ideology of traditional Africa and not necessarily Christian teachings." The truth is that what we presented in the movie is not the ideology of any tribe or race. It is purely a call to Galatians 5:22-23 - "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." If you watched the movie very well, towards the end, the wife told her husband how disappointed and angry she was. She also told him what she thought to do. According to her, what cautioned her against acting irrationally was the message that was preached on their wedding day. Hence, she chose to quench the fire with patience rather than fuel it with anger. IT WAS A CHOICE SHE MADE. 3. Finally, you said you think men will love this movie. You are correct. However, it may surprise you to know that we have received feedbacks from far MORE WOMEN THAN MEN. This includes single sisters who have been using lessons learnt in the movie to pray for their future homes. Try to read through some of the comments under the movie. I think it is the western ideologies that is partially rooted in feminism that made you think like this. I have seen a number of modern ladies thinking the way you do. Unfortunately they are all wrong. Our African traditional culture is closer to the Bible than the woke ideologies of today women that seem to be arguably supported by the western pattern of thinking. Apart from this, God's intention supersede human rationale of right and wrong. God's perception of family and man and woman relationship is totally different. A woman is called to submit if it suit them or not and a man is call ed to love. Modern reasoning is the reason many homes are broken especially the woke women who contest the headship of man and God prescription for successful marriage. The earlier women know they are help meet for a man ( not the centre of attention), the better.

Wow, that was a great virtues that I learnt, because if Iam in the shoe, it will be hard for me to be serving him with a smile. What will I smile for?
