The fall of shield really bothers me, such a huge enterprise to just toss away. Infinity war could have been an actual war if they were still around. Shield, Wakanda, Asguard and the Nova Corps against the Kree, Chittari, dark elves and hell, have Hydra reveal themselves and work together with shield. I know that's an insane amount of production costs but just imagine

yeah captain marvel really bogged it down, she had like 5 minutes of screentme but succeeded at being immensely unlikeable and a deus ex machina moment with no payoff, the actual plot of the movie certainly didn't help itself either, there's only so much fun content you can get out of a glorified fetch quest with forced character arcs

Shield wasn't an American funded organization IIRC, the F-35 they used in the movie was intended to be an actual aircraft rather than CGI but the US denied it because it wasn't an F-35 operator and that the fictional factions role "wasn't clear".

I think that would of been so much fun to have seen. Many people and fans said Nick Fury and Agent Hill should of been in the 2012 carrier in the final battle giving assistance with spacecraft and aircrafts. Would of been great as Nick would see his plan to create the Avengers finally come together.

Federico Rossi They'll probably won't do much to the ship since they're not armed with weapons of mass destruction or even high powered missles that the Navy use but instead the Helicarriers are mostly equipped with railguns to take out hostiles on a massive scale and a handful of AA cannons to deal with an attack from the air force . I find it more likely that the helicarriers would be useful to handle Thanos's ground and air force while the Avengers heavy hitters focus on taking down the ship.

Strange seeing three Heli Carriers on screen at the same time. In the comics you never saw more than one and that was rare. Shield used them as more of a air born HQ than a battle platform. There's an old issue of Wolverine where he wants to talk to Fury so he finds out where they resupply the Heli Carrier, the top of the Twin Towers, Tower one. He gets there on his motorcycle... great read just for the elevator scene.

@@outrider425 that depends. Sometimes things look pointless turns out to be something that can change warfare. Example leonardo drew ideas for the first tank and flying contraptions. During his time people thought they were actually pointless and only prototypes were made but over time inventors worked on it, improve on it and now they become weapons that can change the outcome of war. Its just the matter of perspective and what someone can make of em.

@@outrider425 that is true however over time there will be weapons and tech that would bypass those defenses and it's a repeating cycle weapons get made, defenses are made to counter it, then new weapons are made to bypass or destroy said defenses lol. Imagination for weapons and tech has no limit but the required resources to make them is what restrictions those ideas it's just the question of who can get their tech out first and stay ahead of others.

Modern human technology I would expect to see in Endgame's final battle. Indeed compared to Wakanda technology, this is nothing, but at least I want the representatives of the earth's human military to show them the war. At least not having to fight head-on against enemy's mothership, but bringing in reinforcements like fighter jets, or maybe using them to bring in troops that aren't coming through the portal would be good
