Man, when you look at the wells in Valisthea you really get a sense of just how much they depend on the crystals as a crutch. Cause they probably don't lead into a reservoir, they just dug a hole and use crystals or bearers to fill it up.

I love all the small FF14 references during the Bahamut fight, like at 3:28:35 how Ifrit Risen (who's half Phoenix) flies straight through Bahamut, just like Louisoix (who became Phoenix), and how it's the exact same camera angle and pose as in that cutscene at the end of the Coils of Bahamut.

1:55 You can actually get to that abandoned fishing village already before the story takes you there..if you stop right here and go back to the Southern Velkroy Desert and take that northeastern path on the map that is only partially revealed. You dump out in that lower area and that fishing village, There is nothing there yet as it is eventually a part of the story but you "CAN" get there right now, you don't have to wait. Also FF16 Bahamut joins the exclusive list of FF characters to use Zettaflare: Donald Duck in KH3 Airy in Bravely Default Bahamut in FF14

Love watching someone genuinely enjoying this game and having fun / taking it all in. The story comes around and explains pretty much all of the questions you’ve had.. one of the best FF narratives to date. Probably one of my favourites in gaming period.

Def a great story. Just finished it, but man i woulda liked one more difficulty level above normal. I died twice and that was because I didnt pay attention. Yes there is a new game plus, but considering how long this game is, im prob not gonna play it again for a while with all the new game releases. Woulda been nice to have a bit more challenge the first time through. Doesnt have to be crazy hard, but maybe even on 7 remakes level. Some bosses there I had to really try against.

@@slanderpop8771 completely agree.. even NG+ isn’t really hard if you know your loadouts. I get why they did it, but it could have made accessible while still giving people the option (that wanted it) to start at a higher difficulty. The only part of the game that gave me a hard time were the trials (not the initials - the ones found afterwards in the hideaway) not being able to use any accessories and stuck to 2 eikon ability definitely tests your knowledge of core mechanics / fundamentals.

@@john_7000 It's not hard at all. The timings for counters and dodges are all extremely generous. For most of the fights in the game i didn't use potions and healed up with the potion pick ups after fights. I have a decent amount of experience with combat like this but I'm far from the best in that regard. The game could definitely use a harder difficulty option for people who either have experience or like more of a challenging game.

Got your own kind of fireworks for the 4th! Congratulations on completing such an epic fight! You did the Phoenix portion exactly how I did, not correct, but we did it! The reuniting of the brothers got me big time, the way Clive and Joshua cling to one another is just wholesome. In a completely non weird way, mind you, these two are each others world. Joshua has spent decades trying to save Clive from Ultima, and Clive spent 13 years hell bent of killing his brothers' killer when he thought Joshua was dead, but is absolutely still his protector. Their reunion is just such a precious moment.

I wouldn’t call her amazing because a good amount of her behavior is still kinda unexplained (tho I haven’t finished yet I’m just before the last Eikon fight so maybe it changes). Like how she was going to get the Phoenix and Bahamut in her bloodline, and why she was doing Bearer genocide. I LOVE that they introduce the angle that she was resentful of Clive because he was a better leader and fighter than Joshua. It’s such a neat little twist to put in her motivation. And I love that they committed to her being awful and not redeemed. I was glad when Joshua didn’t save her. I wasn’t rooting for her to die but I did NOT want to see a redemption arc.

Her wanting Olivier to be a bearer of both Phoenix and Bahamut makes no sense; at that point Dion was still alive, so at most Olivier would have inhereted the Phoenix. Unless she meant creating a bloodline that would carry both. I also like the line about it being Clive. She's a horrible human being, but she acknowledges that Clive is skilled. She needed more development though, I didn't care much about her either way.

I find myself checking his channel with the dawn of each new day, hoping to see the herald that Part 12 has arrived. But each morn, I am met with naught but disappointment. So, I scribe this comment, knowing full well that Master Jesse peruses each one. It is a humble entreaty, a cry into the digital abyss, echoing the sentiments of countless others who share my predicament. I write this not to hasten him, but to express my eagerness and anticipation. In the grand tapestry of life, this may seem like a trifling matter. I think it gives the FF formula a new lease on spectacle. Grounding it in "GoT" style realism and scale to really give the clash of these city-wrecking moves a feeling of risk and consequence that's been largely ignored in prior games. You can't just summon Bahamut to cast megaflare in a back alley to clear out a few rats.

I think her death was very apt - terrified of the sons she betrayed and thought dead after watching all of her ambitions turn to ash - the man she betrayed her previous family for AND her precious son and ticket to power both killed before her eyes, her kingdom in rubble and the despised low-born prince wounded but alive. Tbf, he still perhaps is. Considering that Dion and Airy (from Bravely Default) are not Mages, but primarily a Dragoon and a Fairy respectively. Which they both have the means to cast Zettaflare. Either way, it's rather difficult to gauge if one Zettaflare is stronger than another.

I do love some classic one dimensional bad guys. Just because a character like Anabella has a singular goal and is completely evil with no redeeming qualities doesn't mean she can't be a really well written character. Not every villain needs to be sympathetic or have a possibility of redemption. Also, "Yeah, RIP" is 100% the mood for us and her kids when she dies, you can just see how little Clive cares.

This part of the game was so sick. The Bahamut fight was on a level of hype rarely seen, only topped by finally getting to see Anabella bite it. It will never cease to be funny to me how Ifrit is a huge eikon, like we saw him towering at Phoenix Gate, yet in every fight he just looks like a real lil guy scampering around these other massive beasts. Also like someone with a far more galaxy brain than me explain what the fuck was happening with Barney and Ulty because the *implications* are fucking me up

Granted things played out as ultima expected so he ultimately (haha) won but its interesting how much arrogance she had and how powerless she truly was, hell even after dion kills the old emperor and she calls the guards just to have none answer her

@@khangle6872 i didn't bring up the emperor in the conversation because i'm still gathering my thoughts about his reactions towards the end (before and after being speared) but on thing its clear the guards didn't attack Deon not because he is bohamut but out of respect and taking his side, while yes he could flatten them, in the FF verse we clearly see guards will fight against anything to protect those who they are loyal to, in this case they were more loyal to the old empire to what it had become and Deon represented that and not "just" emperor which was Annabella and the emperor miscalculation

1:45:05 No, no. It's a fair question. Since ancient History is made up by educated guesses, it's entirely plausible that the Fallen were an entirely separate species than Mankind. In fact, it would somewhat make more sense if that were the case; if we make an educated leap in logic, like the real world Neanderthals and Homosapians, the Fallen and Mankind could have existed at the same time and a small percentage of them cohabitated. That cohabitation resulting in the small percentage of Bearers we see at present time in game (where one of the two species were born with magic and as one of them died out their genes became less common in the surviving populace), just like some human DNA has about percentages of Neanderthal in it.

Btw Jesse, regarding your last comments, don't worry about doing things "wrong". The game is easy enough in first playthrough to succeed even if you're not optimal. As long as you have a great time and, if you're blocked, you learn (as you did in the Phoenix bit), you'll have a jolly time. That said, if you wanna know why you failed to stop Teraflare in the last phase, it's mostly because you missed your Brimstone (as in you didn't hit Bahamut), and you also used Heat Rush too much, instead of doing regular combo with Backdraft Finish.

@@pforgottonsoul It doesn't matter what was going to happen, just what I wanted to happen. A man can dream. Also a trailer showed a very brief clip of the Ifrit Vs Ifrit battle so I thought that was a hint that Annabella was also an Ifrit dominant, that she was the one who actually killed Joshua, and the final fight would be you finally getting revenge against your horrible mother.

I thought so too, but then I realized there are so many people who he would've probably just gone to instead who wouldn't ask for coin. He wasn't asking for information that they knew only they had. So low chance of getting paid, and not worth pissing off a wealthy swordsman over it. Clives nice, but they don't know that.
