I probably took it a little but too literal, but i saw it as from the perspective of someone who’s passing, and when they say “don’t follow me” it’s saying “don’t end your life to go with me, carry on without me”. I think the message is about death I mean, not just because ronnie showed it in his stream after Derek passed away (RIP) but the lyrics in general sounds like someone telling their loved ones not to miss them and the space sound can represent the line "Death is like a one way ticket to a distant star" (Also it reminded me to Welcome to the black parade) It would make sense to be like a tribute

I think he's singing about life, he's losing his life and he tells us that we have to carry on and we have to stay strong and keep on living, what he didn't do. I suspect i didin't make it to the album not because of the music but because the message, theme and sound in general is similar to "Coming Home", which was the main song of the album They just dropped it now because Ronnie showed the song in his twich and fans convinced him to released officially 😂

Apparently he finally released it because after Derek passed away he leaked it himself on his twitch to thank fans etc. A lot of lyrics have direct reflection to the loss of their guitarist. Even though the song was recorded for the last album. I think it means a lot to Ronnie and Derek. Maybe Derek had a lot to do with the making of this song and the meaning so he wanted to honor him by releasing it. That’s not even getting into the lyric meanings about death etc
