I’m a machinist. Watching you work is a real treat! You do with a cutting torch what I’d be doing with a bandsaw and a Bridgeport. Keep up the good work!

that's cool , you do everything old school . I was showing my son , he just started welding in high school . they start you out stick welding and gas cutting . I told him everybody should start that way . good video .

Sure is good to see someone doing awesome fabrication with the bare essentials OUTSIDE. Some of these channels make it seem like a man needs 30 grand worth of tools and a huge shop to put out a good product. You put them to shame with your top notch raw skills and techniques. Nice work!

Dude, your fit up skills are amazing. In fact, they are so amazing that I am going to show this video to my welding class (community college welding program) the next chance I get! I explain to the students that 'welding' is only a PART of what it takes to be a professional welder/fabricator or pipe welder/fitter. One hint, and this is not a criticism! I have built similar hex shaped fire pits, and I found a local guy who operates a laser cutter out of a small shop. To cut the iron for about three or four of the pits you are building would cost me about $200, and I supply the iron. The fit up is always perfect, as the cuts are computer controlled. This saves me enormous amounts of time and money. Thank you for your great work!

new subscriber here. i'll be trying my best to replicate this build with some 12ga 5" flat bar, 4x8 sheet of 14ga, and some 1 inch sq tube. mine wont come out nearly as good as this though, even with plasma cuts and a metric shit ton of grinding. this is a seriously good design, with or without the grill top. very impressive.

yes, awesome work. Just wondering at 5:20 in the video you had square tubing sliding over square tubing, was it seamless tubing. I tried to get 1 inch tubing to slide into 1 1/4 but it had the seam inside and I had to grind a lot to fit it in.

Great video! I love that design and I don't care what anyone says.... it'll last much longer than any weber kettle you'll buy at war mart! Interested in watching more of your videos... you're a talented practical welder, keep up the good work! I'll bet you'd love to have a nice shop with a shear and brake, maybe a couple of water jet cutters or a laser cutter! I worked in a fab shop and an oilfield welding shop running a pattern torch for a while... if I only had the money to buy the equipment!! lol...
@Allensweldingwoodworking8 жыл бұрын
yea I would love to have a break and shear, would make a lot things easier..I just try to figure ways to get by without certain things tho
@mikeford9638 жыл бұрын
Brake and shear would merely speed up production, which from the sounds of it, you need!! Good work!
@SuperDave218 жыл бұрын
I would highly recommend a plasma-cam cutting table for speeding up the process. The aren't that expensive and would save a ton of time in clean up. Plasma AutoCad software comes with it and you can lay out and cut virtually anything from grill grates to signs etc.... It would pay for it'sself in a year or less based on your orders!

Great video, one of many!! You need a plasma cutter, you could save enough in ox, act to pay for plasma rig. I only use my torch now for the rose bud. I'm not complaining about you touch work, your bad ass with the touch. Just saying a plasma cutter would save you money and open up more option whip up templets for reparative work. Keep up the good work!!
